Brownell's...

EGW THREAD PROTECTOR 1/2-28 | Brownells

I'm sure other placers like Midway. Primary Arms, etc., would have them as well.

Why would you want to do that? The muzzle device protects the thread and the crown...

I was thinking if it was made of Aluminum it would lightin up the barrel abit. I found this one Strike Industries Barrel Thread Protector (1/2x28) | Wing Tactical I also think that the a2 bird cage is ugly and don't really wanna spend 50$ on a compensator for a thead protector.

Heck, the whole rifle/barrel is light enough already. If you don't like the looks of the A2 FH, try something like this AR Stoner for $20.00. It works just fine and doesn't add any noticeable weight to the barrel.

Well, at the risk of necro-threading, can I assume the flash hider is removable?
I have already bought one but the background checks are running a bit slow. This question is what lead me to this forum, look forward to reading more.

The non-compliant ones are removable. Don't have any experience with compliant ones.

Unlike a regular AR15, make sure you support the barrel or damage to upper receiver WILL occur (the barrel will spin in upper)
