Default Upgrades?

Hey everyone. Recently bought the m&P 15-22 and want to know what I might be missing for upgrades. So far I ordered the Radian Raptor charging handle with Ambi safety. And I have a Rise Armament 140 Rave trigger coming tomorrow or Monday. Not looking to spend a ton of money but any any other small “upgrades” you guys would recommend?

Welcome to the forum.

In my opinion the single best "upgrade" for all guns is plenty of ammo. Shoot the snot out of it and then you can consider accessories that make it easier and/or more comfortable for the shooter.

I mean, the sky is the limit. My upgrades always have to make sense and have a benefit, I don't care too much for looks.

Might not be the answer you were looking for but I recommend you to hang on to your money and rather buy ammo. Shoot it plenty and then go from there.

I'd also recommend looking at some kind of optic for your new rifle.

I suggest forgetting all the DODADS and buy ammo.......THAT will make you a better shot with your rifle.

Shoot it a while and see what you do and don't like about it. Then go from there.

I kept bolting on stuff till it almost doubled the rifle weight, then I realized I've defeated one of the guns best attributes, it's light weight, now I only put on what I need for that days shooting.

Good for you replacing the trigger ASAP! The RA 140 is a decent trigger and waaaay better than the stock trigger. Same goes for the Radian CH and ambi selector switch. I have the same trigger & Radian accessories on mine. They all are great upgrades. Do you have front/rear BUS? Decent optics/mount are nice to have. Something like a 1-4x or 1x6x work just fine. A Magpul MOA pistol grip is inexpensive and improves the feel/grip. Sling, Bipod, M-Lok rail sections, weapon light....all good accessories.

Another thing I would stock up on would be magazines. I really like the 25 rounders, but don't neglect the 10 rounders as well!

I would recommend changing out the stock and pistol grip.

Any AR-15 milspec stocks will work. I like the Magpul CTR and Magpul MOE SL. No rattle, easy to adjust, look cool and most important more comfortable.

For grips I really like the LaRue A-PEG from Larue Tactical. Only $10 and very comfortable.

Another great upgrade if you will be carrying the rifle is a good two point sling. I like the push button QD attachments.

Like others have said, shoot it.
Shoot it again and then shoot it some more. You may find that you like it right out of the box.

Stock and grip I might change out in the future. I have the red dot that came with it and mbus sights I already had I mounted on as well. For now those will do. Better optics probably in the future after I shoot it some more. I guess I’ve done enough upgrades for now then. Installed the trigger and radian ambi safety tonight. Tomorrow I’ll fire a few rounds through it. Thanks for the inputs guys!
