Backyard disaster
First let me say I love my 15/22. Everyone from grown men to young girls (I have daughters) love to shoot it. It gets lots of love at my place. Problem is.. last week when showing my buddy how to break it down quickly the rear takedown pin pulled all the way out. No problem I thought. Now I see that there is supposed to be a small spring and a ball or detent of some sort to stop full removal of that rear pin. What now? I have finally found a schematic for the gun but it doesn't even show what I am talking about. Thanks in advance and God Bless America!

The take down spring and detent are standard AR15 parts. They are retained by the pistol grip on 15-22.
Any parts peddler should have them in stock.

If it's the same as the AR-15 Sport, you will need to loosen the castle nut and remove the buffer tube to install the new spring and detent.

The 15-22 is different, the take down spring and detent are retained by the pistol grip along with the safety spring and detent.
