Definitely don't need one, but I WANT! That is very nice, and I do enjoy my AR pistols. Didn't think I would, but my son talked me into it, and he was right.

I got tired of waiting and purchased a RRA.. I really wanted one of 15-22 pistols. Blast at the range and still cheap to shoot.

Why so late to the game? I want one of these! I already have a 15-22 but have always wanted a pistol. This would be so much fun with a suppressor on the end. And a great training alternative.

I had a Colt AR22. I guess my expectations were a little high, I sold it and bought a CMMG conversion kit for a spare AR.

I reaally, reaaaaallllllyyy, like the one I have. Don't think I will get another one tho. As a suppressor host, and many mags, it is just too fun.

I'm getting one. The kids will love it.
I'm looking forward to seeing how much weight they will remove from the bolt for a 7 inch barrel.
edit:
I'm not sure what they changed for the short barrel.

I hadn't actually heard of them until this afternoon when I was on the phone with one of my distributors. He had some in stock. I pulled up a pic and decided to order 6 of them for the gun shop.

Time is hopefully on our side. I predict in under 10 yrs the price will be as it should be. No way I'd go above 400.00 for a chopped M&P 15-22.

Looks like pricing is about $100 above a 'base' model 15-22... which is about what the SB3A brace costs.
IMHO, that's not unreasonable if you want one of these, especially compared to building and SBRing a standard rifle.

Ordered one this morning from SOS, $499. The average listed price for the on-line stores is $549 and as high as $699. Looking forward to giving this new toy some range time!

I ordered one as well... paid a bit more, but I've had good experiences there in the past and they already had my FFL info associated with my account.

Being a dealer and knowing what they actually cost I will tell you to look for a used one. Right now the dealer cost is more than you price limit. Once things return to some normalcy Smith may re-institute their package pricing which will allow the price to go a bit lower when they are purchased in quantity but who knows when that will happen again.

From video I saw; it appears they are using the same bolt that is in the older pistol. Material removed from top on an angle and some removed from bottom.
There is a picture of it somewhere on the forum, just can't find it.

I just stumbled across this thread and it cost me $519. Placed an order from Sportsman’s. Have considered a full caliber AR pistol for quite sometime but rifles are really loud here at my home range and I knew I would not shoot it all that much. This 15-22 pistol is very exciting. Got a Romeo 5 on order too.

I could not find a video of the new pistol bolt.
I'm looking forward to seeing videos or pictures soon.

Try this one;
Even tho it's an older video, it represents the differences perfectly.

Here's a side by side of the new 1522 pistol bolt next to a 1522 rifle bolt. Just picked mine up yesterday at Shoot Point Blank, $499 plus tax. Now I need to decide what optic to use our just leave the rifle sights on it. Worked great with my suppressor

Think I found my optic. I've got astymitism in my right eye, so red dots are stars instead of dots. This 1x Vortex Spitfire has the dot in a circle etched glass reticle and shows up clear as day. Works very well, hitting 6 inch steels constantly at 70 yards, that's as far as my range is setup.

Is the “buffer tube” molded into this or is it removable? I’d prefer the original style without a buffer tube at all.

Running the same glass on my 15-22 pistol. Very under rated optic that Vortex discontinued.

Just ordered mine from Kentucky Gun Co. $499 cash price, free shipping, no sales tax, (saves me 8%). Thank you stimulus check. Even have $200 left over for ammo. "Optics Ready" so no iron sights. I've had my full size 15-22 for a few years now. Will probably do some mixing and matching with all the spare parts that I always inevitably accumulate, Magpul sights, hand guard, red dot, tacti cool charging handle, and more. Should be fun.

Anyone come up with a good, low-profile case for their 15-22 pistol yet?

I was actually considering a racquet case... or a ukulele case , and shopped some today. Couldn't find anything I liked.
Copper Basin makes a covert backpack for takedowns that looked promising, but I didn't want to drop $100 on one.
Ended up ordering a 24" 'Savior' case. I'll post some pics when it arrives.
On another note, finally shot it this morning. Ran mostly perfect with bulk HV, and CCI SV ammo. Couple hiccups that I'll ascribe to being a brand new gun (haven't even cleaned it yet). Would not cycle CCI Quiet (which I expected), cycled Remington Subsonic just fine.
Very quiet with the Mask HD... just action noise.

So far so good. I've had a 15-22 rifle since 2009, and I'm very happy with the pistol so far. I've been waiting a long time for this to become available.
I let a couple of the range employees shoot mine yesterday, and I think they're going to order a few for store stock.

Don't forget, you are getting a $120 brace with it.

Forend is M-Lok, so any M-Lok style attachment should work.
I ordered an M-Lok AFG, since that's what I have on my other AR pistol... haven't received it yet.

Here is mine. Picked it up yesterday. Wiped it down and lubed it today and put a couple of magazines through it. Unfortunately i had failures to extract every fourth or fifth round. The empty case would sit on top of the mag. My 15-22 rifle has been virtually perfect in the 10 or so years and many thousands of rounds. Hopefully this one gets working. If not I wont hesitate to send it back to S&W. They will make it right. Super handy gun and feels great.
