Need Your Help with 15/22 Mag
Hi,
For this style of S&W 10 round mag, there is no thumb assist that helps with loading .22LR cartridges (see attached photos), whereas the 25 round and short 10 round mags have thumb assists.
What type of bolt in terms of length, bolt head, and nuts could I install to create a thumb assist?
Thanks in advance.

The limitation with that loading assist button is that I would have to remove the 10 round blocking pin inside the magazine to lower the feeder to the bottom to insert the buttons, thereby converting the magazine to a 25 round capacity. Also, one reviewer in that link reported that the aftermarket loading assist button was so small that it wobbled on use.
My thinking is to add a bolt and washer (fender washer) to the feeder without having to remove the 10 round blocking pin.

Forget the buttons and get this instead. The McFadden Lightning Speed loader with the adapter for the 15-22 magazines will let you load all those magazines literally in seconds. It is by far the best way to take care of your loading problems. Available from many sources - including Amazon. Just don’t forget to get the adapter. It doesn’t work without one.

I recommend the McFadden to anyone that has a 15-22.

Just push the rim end straight down. When it gets below the feed lips, rotate the round to point forward.
Super easy and fast
