Default M&P 15-22 ejector

New member, have a question on the 15-22. About 400 or so rounds through it, runs fine, but have tried rapid fire a couple times and the spent brass stove pipes after 3 or 4 rounds.I use CCI mini mags high velocity. Is there a break in period or do you recommend replacing with a better extractor now? Thanks.

Volquartsen makes an improved extractor that is a good upgrade. The ejector probably needs adjustment, most do out of the box. The ejector needs to be almost rubbing the bottom of the bolt and the center rib. If it does rub, it can slow the bolt enough to cause misfeeds so there needs to be a couple of thousandths clearance in both directions.

The new extractor worked very well. Put about 150 rounds through it with no hang ups. Thanks.

Same experience here . Several FTEs and stove pipes right out of the box . Swapped the extractor with the Volquartsen extractor and ran 150 rounds , ZERO issues....

I have the Volquartsen extractor on order. Agree with the adjustment on the ejector.

I now have the Volquartsen extractor. Easy install and it works great. Excellent upgrade.
