Need scope and mount recomendations.
I want to see just how accurate this rifle is but don't want to break the bank. $200 budget for scope and mount. 4X or so scope and a Picatinny mount.
I've been shooting with Magpul flip up sights and Vortex Spitfire AR 1X etched reticle sight. Astigmatism won't let me use a red dot.
I have Vortex optics but nothing for a .22lr.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I was in the same boat. Wanted a decent scope for my 15-22 but not spend a ton of money. I ended up getting a Tru-Glo Omnia 1-4x24. It has a lighted, etched open circle/+ reticle, very clear glass, and came with a one-piece mount and throw lever. I think I paid right around $200 for it. Very nice scope for the money.

The Vortex Crossfire II in 2-7x32 is hard to beat, IMHO...
Cheers!
P.S. And that's on a M&P 15-22, a Ruger 10-22 or an American Rimfire in 22lr & 22 WMR as well!

Vortex Crossfire II in 2-7x32 RIMFIRE. I like that one. What about Picatinny mounts for it?

Just pick your height.
Big +1 for Vortex optics. I own several, and they are as good as you can get for the money (IMO).

Here's a mounting rail if you need it.
Good luck and happy shooting.

I have a Vortex Spitfire AR on my 15-22 now and it is the perfect height. Not sure how to measure the Vortex Hunter rings. The high rings are 1.22 inches. Center scope height - "Center of the riflescope tube from the top surface of the mount base."

The Monstrum cantilever mount is under $30 and seems to work just fine on my 10-22 with a rail. Wouldn't hesitate to use it on my M&P 15-22 but the durn MP-100 Green & RedDot sight that came on it just works exceptionally well at the indoor range. Maybe when (and IF?) it ever dies on me...? Just bought four CR1620s so THAT may be a whicle? In those long ago days it came in a package deal with the MP-100 and a fantastic rifle case!
As easy as it is to put a $500 scope on a $400 rifle, one can also use a $150 pair of rings or mount for a $150 scope... The logic of it, somehow, still escapes me.
Cheers!
P.S. Years ago there was a pretty interesting article along the lines of "One Good Scope" in which the writer advised buying really good (as in mucho $s!) glass and various rings and mounts, idea being to just transfer the scope to various rifles as they were used...
I went the other way.

Nikon made a great rimfire scope P-22. That's what I have on my 15-22. I don't think Nikon has made rifle scopes in a couple of years. If you could find a used one or new old stock i would reccomend. Around $175 back when I bought mine. Last week was using it at 100 yards -very accurate and clear.. It has a bullet drop reticlcle.

Just saying on my S&W AR-15 I use a hi rise
Scope mount. so if I damage my Scope I can
Still use my iron sights write under my Scope.
and I don't have to bend my neck as much to use the Scope . Just saying that's what I do.
Hope this helps somebody and anybody.

Tru-Glo is made by Shanghai Changhong Optoelectronics which is the same Chinese company that manufactures, owns, imports, and sells the Swampfox brand of optics as its own house brand.
IMO you get a much better value with the Tru Glo brand.

Hawke or Vortex optics work well, I have a Tier One unimount on one of my 15-22s but that's probably overkill.
