It holds a standard 8 rounds. I was wondering if I could get an extended mag holding 10 rounds? I do see a 14 round mag on their site but it comes with an O.D color sleeve on it. My M&P is black.

Any help/info is greatly appreciated?

No guidance yet on a magazine for the M&P45 besides the 14 rounder?

Is this the compact version? All my M&P 45 magazines hold 10 rounds.

This is interesting...So your M&P45 holds standard 10 rounds? On the S&W web site they have full version M&P9 and the M&P9c (compact) they list the M&P40 and the M&P40c. Also the M&P.357 but,

As far as the M&P45 the ONLY version on S&W web site has the M&P45c (compact) They don't list a M&P45 full version. So I am confused. The guy at local shop said it was full version so I assumed I could at least get 10 rounds but mine has a standard 8 round.

Unless they are not showing it on the S&W website. I guess I should call them but if anyone knows more about this please inform. This is my first S&W and also my first .45 caliber. Thanks

If yours came with 8 round mags and your pinkie barely fits onto the bottom of the grip, you have the compact. Plus as listed by sjmjax the compact is 4" barrel, the normal is 4.5".
Buy some mags for the full size 45 (10 rounds) and buy that little sleeve from S&W or elsewhere that fills the gap between the bottom of the frame and the top of the mag base. I have a couple, they are ok.
Although to be honest I prefer the 8 round mag with the cheese wedge base that acts as a pinkie rest and grip extension.

Yes, the full sized M&P 45 takes a 10 round mag.
You must have the compact. Still, 8 in the mag and 1 in the spout is an awfull lot of firepower and likely more than a non LEO/Military situation would call for.

Okay thanks guys....I did call S&W and asked if the 10 round mag will fit in the 45c and he did say yes but that they didn't "guarantee" it but that it will work. (S&W wesson part #39215)

He said it has the same dimensions.

So I assume it works like Glock. I have my G27 (.40) and I have and use the G22 mag (.40 cal 15 rounds)in it and it works fine.

So I hope this is the case and he said they didn't guarantee it just for policy purposes.

It might just be that, since it doesn't have a lip or collar, you could push it home to where it passes the mag catch, possibly.

In that case, it's possible to jam the pistol.
