Default Two-Tone M&P Slide (not all stainless finish)?

I liked the Sigma 2-tone slides that S&W ran on a limited basis. It makes me wonder what a similar 2-tone treatment would look like on a M&P slide. I envision it looking good with the S&W logo left in the black, as well as the M&P logo. Serrations would probably also be left black. An alternate approach would be to remove the black finish only on that plane of the slide where the S&W circle logo appears (left side), matching the plane on the right side where the warning "Caution: Capable of firing with magazine removed" is located.

Another thought: Could Hogue or some company produce silver aluminum grip inserts for the M&P?

Here is a M&P9c with the finish removed and polished with Mothers Mag polish. Easily done by hand and elbow grease.

Cerakote finish

Quote:
Cerakote is an extremely durable and corrosion resistant
coating that is self lubricating.
Cerakote can be applied on soft materials such as aluminum and plastic, providing incredible strength factors.

This dealer is local here in MI, but I would imagine he isn't the only one that can do the type of work you are looking for.

Those threads are from almost three years ago when Todd was first standing up his gun business.

Interesting read. He's a regular on sigforum and holds a pretty good reputation over there. He's refinished 2 slides for me and has held to his word every time.

Until today I've never ever head a complaint about him.

I sent all 3 of my M&Ps to Robar for their NP3 electroless nickle finish. This finish is superb, it not only looks good but it requires very little lubrication and facilitates cleaning.

Funny, I'm not a big fan of two-tone guns but those look pretty dern good to me. Very interesting coating.

Nickle plated stainless? I was actually wondering about that on nickle revolvers, what do they use for the base metal?

Really nice looking pistols.

Sorry to necro this old thread, but as a fellow sucker for two-tone/stainless slides... how much does the NP3 treatment from Robar cost?

I also found out there was a Cabela's exclusive run of M&P9 and M&P40 Pro models (4.24" bbl) back in 2009 that might still be available.

Default 2 Tone M&P

I have a factory 2 tone 5" Pro with the silver stainless slide. It was a limited run and my dealer found me the distributor who had them. The Cabelas in CT has a 4 inch 2 tone. I saw it in the case yesterday.

Robar has a great website with all their pricing, check it out. Their prices have gone up over the last year but I feel the product is well worth it.
