M&P 9c Magazine release
Recently, my magazine has been releasing when firing. I have to stop and slap my magazine midway through emptying it. It's beginning to be a little frustrating. Is there something wrong with my grip? It seems to happen no matter how I change my grip. I have not contacted S&W yet.

Maybe or maybe not. How old is your M&P? I recall that some of the early production M&Ps had a problem dropping their magazines. The factory made a change in th mag release, replaced the parts in the older pistols and updated new production pistols.
I have an M&P 9c made in late 1998 and the change had already been incorporated in the pistol at that point. However, I don't know how much earlier the change had been made. Perhaps there's someone onboard with that info.
If your pistol is one with the older mag release, don't try to backyard smith it or pay a local gunsmith for his services. Instead, call S&W and get it sent into them. They take care of their customers very well.

That's a good question! It did it with both of the mags I was using that day.

Are you talking about the polymer S & W, M & P pistol? I bought my M & P 40 right after they came out in July of 2006 and I bought my MP 9c as soon as I could get my hands on one in Dec, of 2006. Did you just make a mistake about the date or are you talking about another S & W, MP pistol? It's no big deal, I'm just curious.
