Default Full-size M&P mags in a compact?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find it. Will magazines from a full-size M&P pistol fit in a compact? I love my M&P40 and would like to get a M&P40c to go with it and I'd like to be able to stick the full-size mags in it. Also, if they do fit, are there adapter sleeves available to round out the grip?

Yes, the full size magazines fit.

And yes, grip adapters are available from X-Grip. X-GRIP : Sub-Compact Handgun Magazine Adapters : Product List

To aid concealment, I carry my 9c with the short mag in her (12+1) and the full size magazine as the reload (17). It'll work with or without the adapter, it's just more comfortable with one.

I used to do that with my Glocks and figured the M&P would do it but I wanted to make sure. I always liked how the XD subs came with one short mag and one full-size mag with an adapter on it.

My 40c pulls constant duty. When on my side out and about it holds the 10rd mag and switches to the FS 15rd at night and just around the house. The larger mags are nice at the range also. Just be sure to practice with the compact mag too, there is a small difference in the feel as well as weight. I also have the larger mag as my reload while carrying.

Adapters run about $10-12, IIRC I got my X-Grips from Top Gun Supply for $12 each.

Mine isn't an X-Grip ...

... and when I think of the gentleman's name who made it, I'll be back.

His name is Rich Shaefer (sp?) - but I haven't thought of the name of his business yet.

Default Xgrip Great

I have the xgrip for my m&p 9c and it allows me to use my 17 round mags from my full size m&p9 in the compact. The xgrip fits very well and actually closes the small gap that exist when the 12 round mag is seated in the compact. Taylor freelance makes a mag extension for 5 or 10 extra extra rounds of 9mm or 40 cal. A bit pricey.. the 5 round is 29.99 and the 10 round is 49.99. Brownells sells both the xgrip and the taylor freelance mag extensions. With the 10 round mag extension, I can get 29 rounds of 9mm in either the compact or full size m&p.

Is that from Custom Carry Concepts? of all the grip extenders that looks the most comfortable.
