Default Buying a used M&P. What to look for?

I know what to look for with metal framed pistols, but no so much with the M&P series.

I have the opportunity to buy a M&P9 used. What are the key things to look at to be sure it has not been abused?

I get to Hoffmans & Newington Gun Exchange about once a month and never see any used ones. My neighbor is looking for a full size 40. I’m not sure what kind of problems to look for either, so far all my M&Ps are flawless.

I would assume the same things you would in a metal frame: cracks, worn-down areas, and proper function. I would take a very close look, I'd suspect some problems may be easier to fix or cover up. Polymer is a bit more forgiving than steel or aluminum.

What he said.

But you could send it to me for inspection and I'll let you know.
