Default CORE 9L or Glock 34

Anybody with actual first hand experience have an opinion on the G34 and M&P9L CORE? It'll be for 3gun and USPSA.

I've been shooting M&P 9 FS in production/limited USPSA and tac optics 3gun for the last two years. I'm ready to move up, and leave myself open to open class in both games, and either of these guns could be entry level for that.

Both great guns and have their fans.

If you want to shoot open I'd go with the M&P Pro CORE. It's ready for optics without the expense of slide milling, and you already have a stash of M&P mags. You just need some Taran Tactical mag extensions.

Core all the way, gives you the option to put a red dot on if you so desire and it's an M&P. Get a G34 if you like the feeling of hot brass pegging you in the face, Glock still hasn't fixed the issue there. S&W listens to customer complaints & fixes issues. New COREs have the new 1/10 twist barrel.

[sarcasm]You came to a M&P forum to ask if people like the M&P better than a Glock. What exactly did you expect for an answer?[/sarcasm]

Seriously, the M&P is an all around better gun. More features, ergonomic, reliable and inexpensive. There really isn't a decision here. Clearly the M&P is the right tool.

If you were already using a Glock, I'd say stick with it. However, since you're already using an M&P, switching to a Glock will only degrade your performance.

Not currently using Glock:

But I asked here because I figured somebody who knew M&P's would be here, but I also know there are Glock shooters here too.

You have a nice collection. A Glock would be a fun addition and fun to play with. For serious shooting though, stick with what works and what you're familiar with.

I don't have a 34, but I have/have had multiple Glocks. I switched to the M&P and haven't looked back (except finding extra mags is difficult). I use my 5" Pro in IDPA and it's awesome!

Good to see more people switching from Austrian made firearms to American. I also made the switch.
