Default Buying M&P Today

I'm leaving here in a bit to go purchase my first M&P. A .45 ACP 4.5" plain jane version for $499 plus tax. Will be $546 OTD. I'm sure if I put on my beat you to **** hard shopping armor I could get a NIB for cheaper with rebate. But I kind of like this LGS. And believe in supporting the local market. I will have several pistols to chose from and snap cap try outs are invited. So I hope to pick the best!

I look forward to this purchase! And the pistol has been on my hit list. I've really been wanting a 1911. But in my mines eye and wallet. The prices of even a poor 1911 are to high coming up on the 100 birthday. So it will be a M&P that gets the nod at this point.

They do have Glock SF a tad cheaper,,,,, Naw!!!!!

I think you are making a great choice. I have several 1911s, and a Glock 21SF and a 30SF. My M&P 45c is my favorite carry pistol, and it fits my hand and feels better than anything else I own.

Well Well Well,,, This is the best OTD $542.57 firearm I have ever purchased! M&P .45ACP, 4 1/2", SKU 109306, Serial Number Series MPUxxxx.

Bought it, picked up 400 rounds of ammo from three diff. retailers. Came home, cleaned it up. a thin film of rust all over the slide and barrel. It otherwise cleaned up really fast. The finish acted more like a parkerized finish. Once clean it really sucked up the M1 oil I use on my firearms. I found this strange.

All cleaned up and lubed it was time to drive out to the range. I had 100 rounds of Blazer Brass, 100 rounds of Rem. ShurShot. A 100 rounds of WWB with a 100 rounds of HD and SD ammo including. Hornady PD/TAP, Win Bonded HP's and some Rem. HD. All ammo was either 230gr or 185gr.

Up first was 50 rounds of Blazer Brass. 15ea. of the 50 failed to chamber. Next 50 rounds of WWB, No Problems. Then came a 50 of Rem. ShurShot. All went well! Back to the Blazer Brass. Again 15 failed to chamber. All other ammo fired today went off with out a hitch. All the HD/SD ammo I fired today was perfect! So now to set down with the Blazer rounds that malfunctioned and see if I can figure out why the pistol dislikes this ammo so much.

The pistol is ,,, flat out a mind jarring lethal weapon. Point, shoot, kill! When I bought mine the LGS had 3ea. in stock. One had a crunchy trigger like my Sigma 9VE had NIB. The other was a display model that had a good smooth trigger. And the one I took NIB has a buttery smooth trigger with a very good trigger. Basically a 6.5 lb. switch. I went into this purchase fully expecting to be ordering parts from Apex tonight. It's not going to happen tonight. Instead I want to take the pistol down and look over it's current wear marks and put a Fluff and Buff on it and see how she does over the next 700 rounds. I will be reloading my own ammo for it within the next few weeks. Need to get some consumables, and a set of die's. Then I will have great ammo.

I am very glad I purchased this pistol over a few 1911's I've been jonesing over as of late. While a Glock 21 SF is a fine weapon and I could have got one $20 cheaper. I'm very pleased with this M&P lead launcher. The egros are fantastic! Only took a few mins. to figure out the Medium grip insert was the one for my hands. The hands fell right in place after shooting my Sigma so much. Squeezing the trigger released a heart warming thud and a genital upper body massage. No sore, tired hands, no aching arms, shoulders or back. No abrasions on the trigger finger. No side bite with its wonderfully low barrel axis.

It's fantastic!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your purchase. I have had the fullsize 45 for a couple of years now with over 3000 rounds through it since. It is a great gun. I liked mine enough that I recently bought the compact 45. It too, is reliable and accurate like the fullsize.

I think you meant "gentle"....if not, you must have an interesting firing position!

Congratulations again on your purchase, and enjoy your fine pistol.

Default Targets

Here are some of the targets I made holes in with the M&P yesterday.

All of these were shot double hand standing. I did no rest shooting yesterday.
