I want a M&P 45.
I want an M&P 45, and I found one used at a nice price. Does Smith & Wesson still warranty for life a 2nd hand owned gun? I guess that's the deciding factor. Otherwise I'll buy one new.
Anything fragile about these pistols? They feel / point so naturally it's not funny.

I want to go back today and possibly buy it. I guess I could call S&W today, but also does anyone know when the strikers were updated? Beginning serial number?
So I can get a used 45 M&P for $500 and the breechface looks like it's been 'wet sanded' ? Or just very poorly polished?
Or I can get a brand new one at another shop for $620 which will get me the 2 additional mags free' rebate.
Should I just go with the new one?

I'd go new if you can swing the cash.
And yes, I want one too!
Good luck,
Lee

You should own one. They are great gun. Only thing that needs to be added is an Apex sear and USB kit. Makes the trigger feel alot nicer. Not "crunchy" like most are from stock.

M&P 45
I bought a M&P 40, and I love it. The thing that you can do with it, that you can't do with th 45, is switch the barrel out, and install 357sig. barrel, and then shoot 357 sig. ammo. I ordered my barrel from S&W, for about $100 with shipping. That might be something that you might want to think about before you buy the 45.

Got to shoot one in 45 a couple weeks ago.
Like it except the trigger. Could get used to
it. I shoot 1911's most of the time. Guess
that's why I didn't like the trigger. May have
to get one.

That is why you need the Apex sear and USB kit. Really makes the trigger alot nicer.
