S&W MP .357 SIG Barrel
So if I just buy a .357 SIG barrel for M&P, OEM made by Smith & Wesson, and of the correct length, is that a "100% drop in" for my M&P Pro CORE .40 S&W with no other gun modifications or mag changes necessary?
Are the .357 and .40 barrels exactly the same external profile?

Hi, are there any of the 9 mm accuracy issues, discussed on this forum, with the .357 M&P?
Thanks.

NONE of the 5 M&Ps I currently have in my possession or the dozens I have ever fired from inventory have shown signs of the alleged accuracy issue. Admittedly I have not had the opportunity to examine one of the M&Ps that have been reported with this issue
The examples we have are all sufficiently accurate and amazingly durable.

I just got my S&W .357 barrel for my M&P 40 delivered this afternoon.
I cleaned it up, oiled it, dropped her on in, loaded up a couple of magazines with some .357 rounds and went outside and shot them. Nary an issue with either magazine. All loaded, fired and ejected properly. But man, what a muzzle blast and bark that round has....LOL. I kinda like it though. Recoil isn't that bad at all. It's more like a push back into your hand rather than a muzzle flip. Recoil is no worse than a .45 round. Accuracy seems to be right on too...appears to shoot fairly flat. Gearing up to reload these as they're pretty expensive to buy commercially.

I have a StormLake 357 conversion barrel for my FS40, and it is just as reliable as my 40 (ie, flawless).

I bought the 40FS back in April and ordered the factory S&W 357Sig barrel a couple weeks later. Both barrels shoot same POI and although I've only shot 50 rounds of the Sig vs several hundred of the 40's I find the 357Sig is slightly more accurate. The sound and recoil are definitely different between the two.
