you can get the crimson trace laser for your m&p. it replaces the removable palmswell. but you need the model without the thumb safety.

so if someone has a 9 or 40 compact with a thumb safety they can not use the CT grip lasers?

goldwinghg, I have not seen S&W 40's with built in lasers, just the bodyguard 38 and bodyguard 380.

If the pistol is equipped with a ambi-safety, I would agree that the right side would need to be removed before installing CTC laser grip. If it has a safety only on the left side, no need to remove it.

Note (fuzzy) pic of the left side of my 40c with CTC laser grip installed. If there was a safety (and there is not), but if there was one, it would not interfere with the CTC grip.

The CTC model number for the 40c is LG-661. I suspect, but you should check anyway, that it's the same for a FS 40.

this one seems cool. LASERMAX

Guide Rod Laser for Smith & Wesson M&P

but the activation is not as simple as the CRIMSONTRACE
Laser Sights For Smith and Wesson Pistols | Crimson Trace Laser Grips

both are too spendy for me... but good luck in your search!

Agree, that "activation" of CTC laser is much more "effortless" than having to manually turn a lever on/off. In fact, I leave my CTC laser (unit) "on" all the time. The laser (light) is only activated when I firmly grip the pistol. CTC claims that the batteries should last for 4 hrs of laser (light)/on. Another poster advised changing batteries every 6 mos, and I would add, especially if you CCW whenever you go out, which I do. I often find myself inadvertantly activating the laser for about a second whenever I'm putting on or taking off my IWB holster. I also (safely) practice drawing and pointing my pistol/laser several times a week. I doubt that this will add up to 4 hrs/240 minutes/14,400 secs of laser time, but...

I'm not sure where you've checked prices, but I got mine for $217 (retail: $329), plus $11 shipping from: https://www.manventureoutpost.com/lo...hp%3Faction%3D. My understanding is that these authorized e-dealers place your order, then they are dropped shipped to the buyer directly from CTC.

Also, CTC offers FREE, yes I said FREE, batteries every year, for life of grip/gun.

One last thing about CTC. I "lost" one (of 2) of the allen wrenches that are provided with the unit and when I called their customer service, they sent me 6 more...FREE.

These are all the current .40 cal models. You will find two models with CT laser grips, a compact or a full size.

Hey Motorcity...I looked on that site and the prices must have gone up. I searched for one for my 9c and it came up to $299.

Huh...I just went to the ManVenture site and had them email the price of the LG 660 model (for M&P 9's) and it is still $217.83. Not sure why they're listing it at $299 for you.
