.357 Sig Barrel for an M&P 40 Pro-Series
Any thoughts on where I can get one?
How about a thumb safety?
Thanks,
Chris

Yes, go to Google and enter ".357 sig conversion barrel for M&P 40" in the search box.
Hit Enter.
You will get 7,920 results.
Knock yourself out!

OOPS! Sorry.
Entering ".357 sig conversion barrel for M&P 40 Pro Series" on Google only results in 5,470 results.
Is that enough?

Should have been a lot more specific....wanting to get a factory barrel. Have not seen anyone, in my limited searching, that carries them. Will have to try calling Smith I guess. I don't see them on their site. Thanks for the help.
I guess 5,000+ suggestions is enough to try though....

The lower priced barrels at Midway are factory barrels and I don't think they make a 5" 357 barrel yet, I haven't been able to get a part number anyway. We do have a Storm Lake 5" 357 barrel for the 40 Pro in stock, $160 plus shipping.

Storm Lake seems to be well respected regardless of the product....
I don't think you can put a thumb safety on an M&P "aftermarket". Some frame cuts and maybe a different sear assembly. You can put on a Hilary Lock, though.... (Seems like a mag safety is also easy to add, but I'm not sure.)
(I could be wrong - I thought I saw somebody give that same answer the other day, and from looking at the assembly, it sure looks like the sear assembly would need some major work. What they actually did is quite simple, though, and ought to be reasonably reliable.)
I wouldn't mind a 9mm barrel & such for my M&P40, but that's another story.
Regards,

Is it a 5" barrel?
I just received an answer from S&W on the 5" 357 barrel, they're not available yet.

Storm Lake make a drop-in 5" .357 sig barrel (Part # SW-MPP-357-00T-0P-5.01 ). You can order one directly from them.
As for adding the thumb safety....sorry ....you can't do it. S&W has restricted the parts necessary for you to do this.

There are two Pro Series 40s', the 4.25" and the 5". From what I'm finding there have only been a handful of 5" made and not suppose to be back in production till Oct.

I will keep it in mind. Waiting on my package of goodies for my M&P 45 I ordered from your company a couple days ago.

I called Smith and talked to "Joe" today. He said they were on B/O 2-4 weeks, about $93.00, plus shipping, plus tax.
Midway is on B/O as well, available around 11/20.
If anyone knows of a used factory barrel, let me know.
Thanks,

I have a 5" .40 Pro at the shop, haven't done anything to it, yet. I don't know why but I was thinking you needed a 5" barrel, we have the 4.25" 357 factory barrel in stock.
