GONIF,
What did Jet Guns charge for shipping? I can't seem to find any reference to that cost, nor how to calculate it on their website.
Thanks.

Their posted price includes shipping.
You then have an option to insure the shipment at the rate of $1/$100 value (i.e. $5.00 for a $500.00 gun.)

I have to ask because buying over the net is new to me. You bought this from jetguns, now does it come with the proper fired shots to be filed with COBIS? This is one thing that was told to me that stopped me from buying over the net. I have NO problem buying locally but some of these prices now a days are insane. Making a buck is one thing but price gouging is getting out of control.

All new guns come with a sealed envelope containing a cartridge case certified as fired from that gun.
Geoff
Who knows it is silly, but it is the law..sigh.

And than once its rec'd at the FFL, they just do as with any new pistol and take and send it out and there should be NO extra Charge " CORRECT "
Trying to get all my ducks in a row here.

Been buying mail order /internet since I gave up my FFL . I pay a $10.00 transfer fee to my FFL .The spent case is in an envalope, I throw it away . In Az the FFL could care less what you do with it . FYI Jet was easy to deal with and I got an email with a UPS tracking # an hour after I ordered it .Fast, cheap, and easy .

OK, I'm ignorant, I admit it.
I Googled "What does the acronym COBIS stand for? Here is the primary result:
sort results: alphabetical | rank ?
Rank Abbr. Meaning
**** COBIS Council of British International Schools (est 1981; UK)
*** COBIS Council of British Independent Schools (Oxford, UK)
** COBIS Central Okanagan Brain Injury Society (Canada)
* COBIS Care of Burns in Scotland
What's YOUR definition?

What ever you call the shell caseing, in AZ we just toss them . It is just one of the reasons Arizona is a nice place to live for gun owners. FWI If someone was to shoot someone he would not leave the brass behind anyway ,unless he was mighty stupid.

Gonif, my previous reply was directed to oamaam. I guess I should have "quoted" his message that referred to COBIS.
But anyone who knows what it stands for can reply as well.
I'm guessing it is some sort of data base Big Brother is keeping somewhere.

Same here in PA Gonif but if one were to Sell the weapon to someone in a Lefty Gun Bloc state, ie. NY,MD,NJ,MA ect. the sealed spent casing would have to accompany the weapon and be sent in by the FFL to the firearms unit of that state. If said Spent Casing sealed in envelope were missing the buyer would be charged $$ to have one registered by that states Firearms Unit. Just best to save it unopened in the box with the weapon to save problems later if the weapon is Sold to A Bloombergian.
CoBis Link for the fellow asking above:

For others who may have difficulty with the link, here is the salient part of a lengthy .pdf:
“...the State of New York established the Combined Ballistic Identification System (CoBIS) in March 2001. The purpose of this system is to identify the firearm and provide investigators with a link to the original purchaser. Operated by the New York State Police (NYSP) at their Forensic Investigation Center in Albany, the database is comprised of sample cases that are required to be provided for each new handgun delivered in New York State. While CoBIS and NIBIN use the same equipment, they are operated as physically separate systems due to the NIBIN restriction prohibiting non-crime exhibits.”
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ASKING ME WHAT "NIBIN" STANDS FOR ;-)

Jet prices look good. Gander Mountain in Richmond,VA wants $649.00 for the M&P 45C. Crazy. All I got to do now is find a FFL to work with in my area.

If you're in Richmond area, check out Greentops. It's not far from Gander Mt. They have a much wider selection and a little better prices; they also have a large used selection. But your best bet is to go the gun show at the Showplace next month I think. Google it. I got my .40 for $475 just before they were closing up shop on the last day at one of the shows earlier this year.

If you try putting that in your checkout basket, you'll find that it's "Out of Stock."
Look closely at the listing on the "Browse" page and if you don't see "Currently Available," forget it!

Picked up the pistol at 1pm today from the FFL ,ran 200 rounds through it without a hicup . Fits in my kydex IWB holster for my H&K usp compact , walking around with it CCW now . Trigger is a bit stiff but not that bad .Going to do the trigger job myself as per the video .

Are you going to order an install the whole Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit or just replace the sear and striker block? I assume you're talking about Apex parts when you refer to "the video," right?
At any rate, let us know how it went.

I think I want a better reset and just polish the rest of the factory parts . This pistol is for CCW and has no safty,as such too light a trigger pull might not be the best way to go for safty . I never put my finger on the trigger unless I a'm aiming/pointing at a target . I know this trigger will NEVER be as nice as a 1911 single action . I don't like the idea of grinding trigger parts because the surface heat treating will be gone .Even over polishing may remove the surface heat treating and leave you with soft parts the wear very quickly .

I wondered about that note after I posted, and today it looks like the 45 has disappeared from the site.

Call them.
I was looking at the .40c yesterday, had it in my cart but didn't buy. I went back today and it said out of stock, so I called and spoke to Tony to see when they would be getting more, and he looked on the shelf and found they still had two left. He said that the website was all jumbled up at the moment but would get sorted out soon.
I'll be picking mine up on Monday, hopefully.
