Default M&P Compact Easier to Carry Concealed than a 6906?

I have a 6906. I really like it. I like semi autos with safeties and mag disconnects. But I sometimes do not carry it. It's light to the touch, but sometimes it digs into my side a bit (I carry IWB), and it is not as comfortable as I would like. I see the M&P compact is about 4 ounces lighter. Anyone ever carry them both care to give me their impression of it? I had a 642 once, and it was light to carry, but I hated shooting it.

May I recommend you consider other holster options. I have had IWB's that were just plain uncomfortable and others where I could carry a gun shaped spool of barbed wire and be comfortable. The 6906 is an awesome gun. Also, the 3913 would be lighter and may carry easier.

What would you recommend? I carry in a nylon Desantis holster. I'm sure there are better options out there. I sold a 3913 to buy the 6906. Never felt the difference while carrying it. Maybe the holster is the problem. It's a generic nylon. I can put other guns in there, too.

They are so close in size and shape that they both carry about the same. I do see the M&P grip as shorter in height to where it doesn't stick out quite as far as a 6900 when holstered. The weight difference to me isn't noticeable between the two. Both can have the mag and manual safeties on them, but when I do carry the 6900 I carry it decocked and off safety so that it is simply pull and shoot if needed.

Default You need a decent holster.

You might take a look at UBG Holsters. I just got a UBG Canute for my 6946 (DAO version of 6906) and it's very comfortable. You can see it in this thread.

New Holster for the 6946

How much was the holster? The leather against your skin doesn't bug you?

It was around $65 and is of very high quality. I find a good leather IWB holster to be very comfortable. It may take a bit of getting use to but when you wear it for a while it's like a good pair of shoes. It just fits to your body.
