Default WoW M & P 9 MM

It's been a long time since i have fired a pistol that just feels natural.

My friends wife has a virtually new M & P 9 mm with the 4.25 barrel. We were at the range this weekend and he said hey you wanna give this a try.

Holy, moly I put 12 rds in a 8 inch paper plate at 15 yards so easy it should be ILLEGAL. I just couldn't get over how sweet this pistol was.

For sure I'm gonna get me one of these in 9 mm.

All I can say is WOW what a sweet shooting pistol. I won't give up my 642 as a CCW but it's dang sure close. LOL.

Dan

Thumbs up

I'm with you. I am a huge fan of the 59 series but my M&P40 just fits! I think it would be just as accurate without sights.

I finally bought a M&P9 about 2 months ago. I have to say it is one impressive pistola. But you're right, the 642 is going to remain in the pocket for now. That is until S&W finally makes the Bodyguard 9mm (or a slim M&P 9C).

Default MP9c Accurate too!

You might want to try an M&P9 compact also. I have both the FS and 9c and the compact is just as accurate as the full-size; maybe even more so!

For carry, it's either the 9c (in a Supertuck Deluxe) or 642 in a Don Hume...depending on where I'm going and/or the clothes I'm wearing.

Default M&P9c issues

I bought the M&P 9mm compact model last year. I bought it brand new. Since then, I have had to send it in twice. First time was because the slide was starting to rust. Got it back, and the replacement slide had dents and knicks in it that shouldn't have been there. I sent a couple hundred rounds through it, and then a chunk of the inside barrel came out. Got it back again, now I have another defect in the barrel, and the ejector is now rusting. Not impressed with the quality control at all! I caution everyone to thoroughly research any known problems. Shortly after purchasing mine, I found reports of police departments banning the M&P9c and the M&P9 from being carried as a service pistol. I believe they were still allowing the M&P40 though.

As far as firing problems, I have had none. It works very reliably in single shot, double, and triple tap firing. I bought the high capacity mags for it, and I can unload the entire magazine without any function problems. However, the polymer frame guides are getting bent over and messed up due to use.

I WAS STRICTLY A SIG GUY FOR YEARS.BUT THE M&P IS AWSOME.HAVE SOLD ALL MY SIGS.THE RECOIL IN 9MM IS AT LEAST 25% LESS.AND THE COST IS 24% LESS TOO.ALL THE FEATURES of the mp are a home run for sw in my opinion.
nicest smoothest 9mm i have shot .
and i have tried them all.was amazed at the recoil
not much more than a 22 mag.i have a mp 9 in every rig, a compact for ccw and a couple pros coming

x2 on trying the 9 compact. I've got 3 M&P's and the compact gets shot the most. Additionally, like you, I have always been a J frame guy for CCW. That hasn't changed but I'll admit I've started caring the 9c nearly as often. About the same size and weight as my 5 shot 38 snubbies, same point and shoot simplicity but with 2x the round count. Very comfortable carry.
FWIW, Lobogunleather makes a great snap on belt slide for the M&P's for short $.
