Gotta agree with Chuck....
The new S&W "SD" line seems to be a re-worked Sigma. No details here - I don't want one anyway
- but I hope they fixed the more serious issues. I have shot 'em. Yech....
Supposedly the Sigmas were a sufficiently accurate clone of the Glock design as to cause S&W to get sued. The result seems to not have helped us at all....
Other than roll pins (the punches are cheap enough and you only need a couple), I find the S&W's very easy to work on, although you do tend to lose your mind trying to put 'em back together. Rather like putting the slide back on a Walther P22. You have to have done it three or four times before you can do it
....
(OK, it's not quite that bad, but a buddy brought one to the range one night many years ago, and, naturally, had to take it apart. About four of us "old timers" couldn't get it back together until it dawned on us what that little piece of plastic was really for....)
