Proper maintenance on a sheild.
Well I read the Manual about we're to oil on the gun. prior to taking it out to the range, one of the worker, wanted to see my new gun, so I field stripped it and he told me my spring is dry and that I need oil on it but the manual did not specify to do so I was wondering, if you guys oil the spring after cleaning the gun, thanks.

Any moveing part on the firearm needs a very light coat of some form of luricant after cleaning, just don't put anything in the fireing pin hole. I like to use Hornady One Shot Dry Lube. Spay it down, let it set for a few min. then reassymble, wipeing off any excess lube. Your pistol only needs a very light coat of lube. Excess lube attracts dirt and lint. The One Shot has a Teflon base that impregnates itself into the metal.

You might want to check out Frog Lube. It takes almost all the worry out of weapons cleaning and lubing.

Frog Lube.
Apply per instructions and wipe off. I then add a very very very thin film of paste on the parts of the barrel and rails where wear can be seen before reassembly.

The application brush makes Frog Lube very easy to apply. I also use a heavy gauge syringe to apply F.L. to my Sigs rails, works like a charm.
