Default Christmas Joy

So I went to pick up an MP15t today and ended up brining home a Shield 9 as well for my wife. Nice gun, have not brought to range yet but it feels great in hand. Merry Christmas!

How does it feel in her hand? Buying a gun for your wife is generally a losing proposition unless it is her choice.

Merry Christmas and enjoy your Shield. I hope your wife feels as fondly about it as you do.

Worst case scenario, you've got yourself a fine little carry gun! However, I expect she'll love it!

If this is your first Shield in the family, you're liable to be back to the store for yourself after a range visit or three.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks all. We have been looking for awhile now and she has handled 3 or 4 different guns. She likes the Shield the best, just doesn't yet know I got it for her. I currently carry a 40c or Sig 938. Though I love the 938 I'll likely replace it with my own Shield when funds allow. I don't like having two carry guns with different manual of arms. Her Shield has safety, mine will not.

Nice! I keep talking to my wife about getting one for her or whatever she chooses. She too uncomfortable with the thought of carrying one, I won't push it but I wish she would.

Ditto, for about 25 years now. I'm afraid it will take something bad happening to her or someone close to her to change her mind. Hope it never happens, but I'd be happier if she'd change her mind anyway.

Same exact situation here with my wife. She is pro-2nd amendment, supports me carrying, but for her personally--it's a no-go

Likewise. The shield is my first gun purchase after thinking about getting a gun for a few years, my wife supports me carrying she just doesn't want to. I plan to teach my two daughters how to shoot in time, I'm also planning to join a gun club my buddy belongs to and they have a really good kids program.

My wife was the same way at one time. She grew up in a home where there were no firearms because of her father's WWII service and related trauma. Then one day she presented to the world an 8lb. bundle of joy. At that moment, she knew she would do whatever was necessary to protect herself and her children, including taking a human life.

Shortly thereafter, she asked me to teach her how to shoot. Thirty plus years later she carries at least as often as I do. There was a period where she bought more guns than I did. Given a choice, she'd carry her AR, but since she can't it's seldom far away.

Both of my daughters shoot. One requested an antelope hunt for her college graduation present. The other daughter wants me to train her children to shoot and be safe around firearms and hopefully teach them to hunt some day, although she chooses not to hunt.

Don't give up, guys.

Nice Scott! Nah I won't give up, as I said, I won't force it but I think I'll get her to at least shoot and know how to handle a gun.
