M&P 15-22 Buffer tube?
Ok spare me the stuff about the law I have a class 3 and ffl it can and will be done all I need to know is where I can find the parts necessary to put a buffer tube on the back of my 15-22 pistol? Is there any special part needed or will the piece that has the sling mount come off and just screw on the buffer tube? Any pics of how this would work would be greatly appreciated

I don't think the 15-22 shares any common operating parts with a normal AR platform.

The receiver extension on the 15-22 rifle is molded as part of the lower receiver itself and is not a screw in part line the 5.565mm version.
There's no "buffer tube" on the M&P15-22 rifle anyway. Or M16 or M4.

thanks for the info guys
Hobie-- Just because I posses the license to do so does not mean I posses all the knowlege of a veteran gunsmith but thanks for pointing out my attitude I just wanted to be clear cause every other post about this question on here looks like it has turned into a debate about the laws and the original question never really got answered

Maybe so but the only thing I saw as a viable answer said anything can be done and that is not specific besides why is it every forum on the net wants to turn every question into a debate wouldnt it be a much wiser use of time to just say oh you missed it here is the answer LOL

There is no provision on the rear of the receiver to receive the extension. The mp15-22 carbine receiver is a one piece unit. Tube is not removable or replaceable without serious modification. I think perhaps that the upper receiver may be interchangeable between the carbine and pistol creating a SBR, regardless of the legality

Guess you missed this (and the photograph) :

A "stripped" lower is still a rifle and you can't legally make a rifle into a pistol that I know of. You can, of course, make it into a SBR with the proper paperwork and tax stamp.
