Talking

So I finally figured out how to get my pictures smaller. So here goes, This is my shield 9mm that I picked up a month or so ago. I added Truglo TFOs, gold inlay and installed the apex carry trigger kit. This is a great little gun. I carry with critical duty +P ammo. And the other picture is with the little brother.

Anyone with M&P's with Docter sights or something like that on it?

I want to use it for competition shooting in the open class (recreactional) but I suck with stock sights, so i want a red dot on it. (still need to holster it)

The most common way is to soak the barrel in vinegar for a few hours. (plug the openings of the barrel before you put it in though) and use a Scotch-pad to remove the rest of the bluing. I used my Dremel with a wheel that resembles a Scotch-pad to really clean it up after soaking. Same with the take-down lever and slide-catches. (didn't soak those, the bluing comes off rather easily)

Wipe them with a little bit of oil afterwards, and voila!

Well, I soaked the barrel for about 4 hours, then used a scotch pad to remove most of the rest of the bluing. But the scotch pad was leaving scratches, so I switched to my dremel on medium speed with a scotch pad-like attachment to remove the rest of the bluing and the scratches. The other parts, I didn't soak, just used to the dremel. Once all the bluing was gone, I switched to a polishing attachment and Mothers Metal Polish (available at AutoZone). Applied the polish to the part, then turn on the dremel to medium and then to medium-high to really buff it out. Wipe with a microfiber cloth and voila. I did all the pieces in about an hour.

As a side note, I went to Harbor Freight Tools yesterday and bought a 3" electric grinder and buffer for $28. I used that buffer along with the Mother's Metal Polish again to REALLY shine her up. Big difference, as now the takedown lever, ejector, and barrel are pretty much mirror-like.

The rail covers are Black and FDE. I used 2 packs each to cover everything except where something else is mounted.

Do you mind sharing how you did the silver inlay? Assuming you did it with the metallic sharpie.

I just finished adding some color to mine. Decided to do a nice silver, even though it looks white in the picture, and some red.

9c is my CCW, 45c is for the home.

Case is a Pelican 1550 w/ pick/pluck foam. I have it set up with a cleaning kit, tools, extra springs (well, all the original factory pieces I replaced with the Apex stuff), extra batteries for the streamlight, uplula, mags, etc. There's still extra room for whatever else I can shove in there (ie. another M&P), which is actually being used now for ~400 rounds of ammo (in the 2nd layer of foam underneath).

Nice collection and set up...

Greetings, I am new to the site. Just purchased a Smith and Wesson MP Hawaiian NS S/S. 9MM. It was a production overrun. I am curious to know how many S&W made like this. Night sights and bright upper. It is not listed on the S&W site.

First time in the field with mine today. Usually a 1911 as a backup gun for coyote here in Central PA. I have yet to be ran up on from behind, but this give me some piece of mind.

One of my own holster creations in CF Holstex material.

Oops, opened "the most recent thread" page, didn't realize at first that you weren't talking about real M&P's.

Here's one of those johnny-come-lately's so I won't be chastised.

Default MY M&P

Here is Mine, just using the kit for now, am looking to add laser/light to it which will make the need for a new holster as soon as i get it set up I'll update.

Updated 4/22/2013

Have added a 5.11 VTAC LBE vest w/pouches and run a chest mounted Condor modular MA10 holster with it (Sandstone/Coyote brown) for our run-n-guns in the desert. The Condor holster will fit any handgun I have tried with it including ones using a light/laser without any issue and provides good protection to the gun as well. I have ditched the Blade-Tech that came with the carry/range kit in favor of a Blakhawk Serpa CQC holster for regular range carry or if I am using one of the other handguns in the chest mount.

Thanks all

JC
