M&P 9mm Magazines
I have a new M&P 9L and I have been unable to locate 17 round Mags! I work part time at a gun shop and have searched every site that I can think of including all of our wholesalers and no one has these in stock! Whats going on at S&W are they not supporting the guns they manufacture? Is this lack of hi-cap mags due to the recent shootings in Tucson or is there some other reason I am missing? There aren't even any on sites like gunbroker.com!

...and gregcotellc.com doesn't even have any either. That's the only place I buy my M&P mags. I bet it's just the normal ebb and flow of the manufacturing process. Sometimes things run out and they need to produce more. Just my guess. An M&P mag is never out of stock for long. Hang in there.

I just purchased a M&P PRO9 5 inch a month ago, ordered a couple extra mags from Cote and then I went back to order a couple more after an extremely favorable buying experience two weeks later and he was out!
I did just order a couple full sized 40s, a Maglula and an X-Grip from him and his elves shipped two days later. This guy has fantastic customer service, decent product prices and seeming puts the shipping at cost.
Between Tucson and S&W dropping their prices and increased awareness of the diversity of the S&W line, it's a magazine perfect storm of unavailibility and bound to change soon.
Even Midway at $34 each plus shipping is out!!
90 days from now there will be a plethora.

People don't want to pay $40 for a 17-round mag straight from S&W, so they hover over the 3rd party sites waiting for things to be in stock...then they buy them up. Same thing happened to me. I was watching G&R Tactical ($25 for a 9mm 17-round!), and they were out of stock, out of stock, out of stock, out of stock...and then one day they had them.
Hang in there and keep looking...or go to S&W and pay twice as much.

I got my M&P 9 last year when the rebate was going. It came with 2 17 mags and the rebate for $50 or 2 17 mags. Took the mags and glad I did....

Thank you all for your responses, I will continue to look untill the supply is replenished. I don't mind paying the $40.00 each for a couple of mags , I just don't want to get to the start of our competition season without the appropriate mags.

He may be like Santa Claus. When I ordered my M&P Pro 40 a few weeks ago, I immediately ordered 4 mags from Greg. I may not have gotten his last magazine, but I was close. I am convinced the quote above is true.

S&W has redesigned the base plate on the 2011 M&P magazines and may not be up to full production yet on the new design. I have four 2010 magazines with the round pin in the base but haven't seen any with the new square pin yet.

I was so desperate for spare magazines, I ordered from S&W directly (I can't compete with just 2 mags).
Followed up this morning and they said it would be 3-4 weeks as even they are outta stock.
Something isn't right. I'm having trouble even finding 10 round magazines.

You should call. I bought my M&P just before the Oct deadline and have had my rebate mags for a long time. Pretty sure I got them late november/early december

I need to verify this; mine is M&P9C and I think there is a shortage of 12 rd magazine. BTW I called them twice already, one at around Thanksgiving time and the last time was around the 3rd week of Jan,2011.

I hate reading this before I buy a pistol. I'll grab as many magazines as I can when I purchase my M&P 40.

Those of you who have not gotten your rebate magazines have checked the following link:
Milano Online Rebate Inquiry
This is associated with the rebate mags and I checked it while I was waiting for my rebate mags.

Crispy,
You are 100% correct on that, I don't want them that bad. Especially when I have found them for $22.95 online, I'll wait until they are back in stock.

Check these out ... $15.88 each. I've been told by someone else on another forum that they are factory mags (though I haven't personally verified that yet) and he just received them and verified that they are. I have a feeling they are just trying to get rid of them because the S&W link on their page is blank. Weird but sometimes opportunity knocks.
Dunn's sporting goods
Normally, I order from GregCotellc.com and get them for $24.95 but I just orded 6 mags from Dunns Sporting Goods tonight.

Sweet!! This was my only concern given the extreme low prices. My 6 new mags are on the way via UPS Ground ... I wasn't in a hurry and didn't want to eat up the great price savings with their expensive shipping.
Mine should be here tomorrow because UPS shows it's arrived in their Phoenix warehouse.

Are they the old shiny black ones or the new matte black ones?
I have some of each and they all work, I'm just wondering if Dunn's was sitting on some old inventory?

Guess I missed the boat on this one, Dunn's shows them as not available online for the M&P 9 now.

Wow! Talk about desperation...
Even my Gander Mountain is sold out of their $59.99 M&P mags. When others had them in stock, the row sat full and untouched. Now they are wiped out...

Yup.
I saw this post and forwarded the link immediately to a friend here at work who just bought his M&P.
By the time he got online there were two left. He ordered two and the owner of 44mag immediately e-mailed him back and said "two orders came in at the same time, I'll sell you each one and comp the shipping."
I wish I had seen this earlier...

I got on there when there were 15 left. But since I don't have my M&P yet, and probably won't for a month or so, I didn't feel like buying a couple and explaining to my wife why on earth I'm buying mags for a gun I don't own. They'll pop up eventually.

Hello!
I am brand spanking new to Smith and Wesson, as well as this Forum!
I currently own a M&P in 9mm, and have 1000 rounds through it, and I am very happy with my purchase!
The reason I'm replying is I have some 9mm 17 Round M&P Magazines for sale, I kinda stocked up when they were available. I'm not really sure how to go about selling them, but if you're looking, I'm selling!
Thanks!
Chris
