Also forgot to mention I got it for $399 NIB with shipping from budspolicesupply.com. Think I got a pretty good deal.

That's an awesome deal! I just ordered an M&P9C myself but have to sit and wait another 2-3 weeks until S&W can pluck it off the production line and ship it to me. Even with my LEO discount I only paid a few dollars less than you.

First off, thank you for your service to our country. The only accessories I have purchased for my 40c have been a Storm Lake 9mm barrel, 9mm magazines, and the CT laser (actually came with my 40c that was used, but like new). I already had a Fobus holster that I can use for the piece, and I am thinking of getting the S&W Micro 90 flashlight.
Best of luck,
Dave

at my local gun smith I seen a M&P 40c with a ct laser and a trigger job. The guy who sent it in paid a pretty hefty sum. probably around 300, more closer to 350, since I know this Gun smith charges about double for everything. Still, I was chatting with the kid behind the counter and he brought it out and showed me. the trigger is scary light, something I wouldn't want tucked next to the "boys" but all in all, very nice.
IMO. It's a toss up between a flashlight and a laser. The flashlight wouldn't really come in usfull for a combat carry, I consider that more of a house hold thing. The laser on the other hand, if for some god awful reason you find yourself in an encounter that forces you to draw your firearm you're probably going to forget about the thing called "sight picture." Probably helpful to at least have a general Idea were your pistol is pointing.. (over generalized scenario here.)
either way whatever you decide to do or not do, train the proper techniques. (firing w/ laser, firing w/o. sight picture vs laser dot) all these things come into play.
and congrats on your fine purchase.

I have no plans on messing with the trigger. I have a Sigma and actually like the trigger on it.

When I bought my full size M&P 9mm I was expecting a little lighter Sigma like trigger but was very surprised to find that it was reasonably smooth and around 6lbs. I guess it would be fair to say it was closer to Glock than the Sigma (which I also own and like a lot). But just because I could not leave well enough alone I bought the Apex DCAEK anyway. I was not disappointed at all, makes a very good trigger excellent. But it was more than serviceable straight from the factory.
I have been CT grip curious but they look like they add a lot of grip thickness; something I would not like at all.

I havent looked at them to hard, but if Im not mistaken they just go in place of the regular changeable grips. So only extra thickness would be the laser itself right?

if you're concnerned with grip thickness get the laser that sits infront of your slide spring.. thats expensive tho.

Wires, batteries and the laser can all add to the thickness. The pics all look thicker the the CT grips than they do with a standard S&W backstrap. Anyone have some comparison pics?
