In regards to the wipe of the barrel after cleaning, I was just cleaning up my Dad's (now mine, but I still refer to it as his), 34year old Ruger Mach I, and went online and viewed this:

They recommend an oiled patch at the end.
I don't think it really effects anything, as long as the barrel is clean of powder/lead/debris. Right, a little oil residue in the barrel won't effect anything for the first shot through, or any after? I would think the oil would burn off during the first shot.
As for spot #3, I will have to take a look at it the next time I have the gun apart and get a better assessment of what needs the oil. If my memory serves me well, it is spring type mechanism on the sear, which was mentioned earlier.
