Default M&P: Lubrication / Barrel Cleaning (quick qestion)

Just a quick question about the 7 oil spots for lubrication on the M&P series pistols (mine being the 9mm C)

In the image below, what is spot #3? There is a lot going on in this are with the trigger and fire pin area. What exactly needs to be oiled there?

Also, when cleaning a barrel:
1) Wet the copper cleaning brush with cleaner - run from breach to barrel.
2) Oil up some patches and run them through the barrel until they are clean.

This is where my question comes in.
Once the patches come through clean, are you done, or should you run a dry patch (no oil/lube) through the barrel, or leave the oil/lube residue in there?

I like running a dry patch at the end to remove excessive oil.

It depends for me... When the guns are in regular use I always run a dry patch through after clean/lube process to remove excess oil, leaving a fine film in the barrel. Before shooting I remove all oil (dry patch 4 or 5 times). I run a dry patch through a few times on my carry gun to remove most, if not all, oil from the bore. If it's November and the gun is going into the safe for the winter months I leave a liberal amount of oil in the barrel and out- not dripping or anything, just noticeable. The arrow pointing at #3 is part of the trigger bar assembly- that's my interpretation anyway!

#3 is where the trigger bar contacts the sear. Pull the trigger foward and you will see where the contact with the sear is.

I also put a tiny amount of synthetic grease on the trigger bar, where it contacts the striker block.

Thank you, all.

In regards to the wipe of the barrel after cleaning, I was just cleaning up my Dad's (now mine, but I still refer to it as his), 34year old Ruger Mach I, and went online and viewed this:
YouTube - RugerFirearms's Channel

They recommend an oiled patch at the end.

I don't think it really effects anything, as long as the barrel is clean of powder/lead/debris. Right, a little oil residue in the barrel won't effect anything for the first shot through, or any after? I would think the oil would burn off during the first shot.

As for spot #3, I will have to take a look at it the next time I have the gun apart and get a better assessment of what needs the oil. If my memory serves me well, it is spring type mechanism on the sear, which was mentioned earlier.

Thanks again.
