magazine floorplates
I have an M&P 40c and 9c. the magazines have different floor plates. I have some with flat bottoms and want to buy the curved finger rest floor plates to replace those. Everywhere I look they state that the floor plates are the same for both the 40c and the 9c....Not so......

Are you talking about the shape and placement of the butt plate/ butt plate catch? The newest version has a rectangle type, which replaced the rounded one. Either one will work in the proper caliber M&P.

It's best to call S&W and ask for the finger rest basepad. The 40c and 12rd 9c are the same, the 10rd 9c does take a different basepad.

M&P 9c mag pinkie floor plates
I called S&W today about the extended floor plates and somebody from the service dept is sending one or more of them free of charge. Sure beats the price on ebay and the out of stock replies from the suppliers. Three cheers for Smith & Wesson! They are out in front in my opinion..

New to S&W, been a Beretta fan, Just bought a 40c and really like it but don't like the flat base plate either ! What/where who do you call at S&W to get the other one? Is there a number or is it just parts ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks ..

Bootman - Thanks for the recommendation.
I just called S&W on my M&P 40 amd 9 Shields and they do not have the curved butt plates. The reason I actually called them is after seeing the recommendation to call them for magazine parts, I did. I bought aftermarket curved butt plates for 4 of my magazines and I would recommend getting them for free from S&W. I called today and the gentleman said they did NOT have the butt plates but try next month. What he did have and will send me is the butt plate holder which is the thin plastic with a spring button that goes under the butt plate and is used to hold the butt plate in place and keep it from sliding..
Butt plates are hard to change when the springs are fresh so when they pop out, no telling where that little plastic piece goes.

Thanks for the number.
I just called to request two of the flat flooplates for the Bodyguard .380
(I don't care for the curved "rooster-tail" plates that came on the second mags for each of my guns).
They gave me an order number, and said 7-10 days.
No request for payment, even though I offered.
Very cool.

Second time a charm
I called as described in this thread, and they agreed to send one ASAP. However, it never reached my mailbox after 2 months. I called back...they showed they sent it. However...they didn't gripe or complain...just sent me another with some goofy stickers. It arrived in 3 days!

Bodyguard .380 Magazine Floorplates
Has anyone heard of or seen a company that manufactures a mag floorplate for the M&P Bodyguard .380 that is solid underneath rather than the rather sharp edge hollowed out one that comes in the box ?
