Default m&p 9mm trigger conversion

i am in a compliant state and the gun comes with i think a 10# trigger pull.

I know there are other triggers available.

Is there on available from SW for non compliant states? If so, what # is it? Can I easily do this conversion with little gun smith experience, or should I farm this out?

If nothing from SW, what else is available from others that is recommended.
thanks.

It ain't about triggers, it's mostly about springs.

The M&P9 can be safely modified to as low as a 4.5 pound trigger. If you're going to do it you may as well call Randy at Apex Tactical and see what you need. Do it all at once.

While the rear sight is off (to get at some parts) install Tritium night sights front and rear. I'm using Bowie night sights on mine.

I just found an M&P 9mm i'm pretty excited. Been talking about for about a year. The trigger feels better now than last year. Has M&P made some changes. Apex is definately the place to go. All I need to do is some creative financing they have gone up in price.

Not 100% sure, but I am under the impression that the compliant 10 Lb guns use a slightly modified block that will not accept all of the APEX parts. Can anyone confirm?

My M&P 9C had an Apex trigger job done by the previous owner and I cannot say enough good things about it. While I don't have a scale I'm guessing it breaks cleanly at about 4.5 lbs and is as good as any slicked up 1911 I ever handled.

I believe that's why the APEX kits include a second set of springs, for the 10lb guns because they are slightly different.

Guy's
Help me out here, I have tried to look up states that have a so called trigger requirement of 10 lbs or states that require not modifying a factory trigger and I can't find any. What I am finding are states that require trigger locks and limitied mag capacities, and no threaded barrels and no mags that extend outside of the firearm but nothing on a mandatory trigger pull. What states have any trigger pull requirements?

MA. is the only "trigger pull" i know of:

16.05: Sale of Handguns Without Childproofing

(1) It shall be an unfair or deceptive practice to sell a handgun without a safety device in violation of M.G.L. c. 140, § 131K.

(2) It shall be an unfair or deceptive practice for a handgun-purveyor to transfer or offer to transfer to any customer located within the Commonwealth any handgun which does not contain a mechanism which effectively precludes an average five year old child from operating the handgun when it is ready to fire; such mechanisms shall include, but are not limited to: raising trigger resistance to at least a ten pound pull, altering the firing mechanism so that an average five year old child's hands are too small to operate the handgun, or requiring a series of multiple motions in order to fire the handgun.

(3) It shall be an unfair or deceptive practice for a handgun-purveyor to transfer or offer to transfer to any customer located within the Commonwealth any handgun which does not contain a load indicator or magazine safety disconnect.

(4) 940 CMR 16.05(2) shall not apply to handguns which have a hammer deactivation device. 940 CMR 16.05(3) applies only to handguns that have a mechanism to load cartridges via a magazine

That's correct. In MA the FFL dealers need to sell the gun with the 10# trigger but it is also lawful to modify your trigger after purchase. Lotta trigger jobs get done in MA.

I've been oggling the M&P 9c for a month or so. Finally went out at my lunch break today and picked one up. They're going for $510 around here. The regular sized one was $495.
Can't wait to get out to the range tomorrow and break it in.
