Default M&P 45 c and Apex trigger

Hello all, first posting. I just purchased an M&P 45c for off duty carry (I'm a LEO) and want a trigger most like a 1911. Any recommendations regarding Apex products? Not necessarily interested in a super light trigger, jut less take up, and a more positive re-set.

Any help is appreciated.

Default DCAEK Kit

You can't go wrong with the DCAEK kit.

My M & P 45C before was well over 9 lbs had a very gritty trigger. Dry fired it several hundred times and shot about three hundred rds ........ trigger still felt the same the pull was the same grit feeling was still there.

I put the APEX full carry kit in, it dropped the pull to 5.25 lbs grit was totally done and the reset is much more noticeable.

I carry it CC in a Crossbread Super tuck and have total confidence. I do carry the SW 642 in a Supertuck also it is a lot lighter and is more comfortable to carry. But when I do carry the 45C I have total confidence that a ND will not happen.

The difference the kit will make in the feel of the trgger will shock you.

My experience anyway.

Dan

I have the 9C and the previous owner installed the Apex kit before I got it. I can't say enough good things about it.

With a trigger pull like that of a 1911, I hope you have one with the external safety.

I don't think any trigger job on an M&P is going to nearly as nice as a good 1911.

My 45C is one of my off duty pistols. The stock trigger left much to be desired. I purchased the Apex DCAEK, installing the hard sear and ultimate striker block but keeping the stock trigger spring. It's made a world of difference.

Just installed the DCAEK and it is phenomenal. 4.5# and smooth. Can't believe what a difference it made. Put about 300 rounds thru it and it made a world of difference. If you can afford it do it. You will not be disappointed...

The Apex FSS kit would most closely replicate the trigger of a 1911, meaning very little take-up, a crisp trigger, and very little over-travel. All of my M&Ps have the Apex DCAEK. It is well worth the cost.

I just bought a new M&P45c, and I guess I just lucked out...it has a very light and smooth trigger. I know it hasn't had any trigger work or a kit installed...as I said, it is brand new, and I haven't even fired it yet, just dry fire. It isn't as light as my 1911s, and I don't have a trigger pull gauge, but I can tell by "feel" that it is lighter than my other striker/polymer pistols.
