tell me about the m&p 40 full size please
thinking hard about getting one.
any issues?
was gonna get the .45 but decided to split the difference.
40. ammo is a hare bit cheaper but still has that critical 4 in its cal.
i have a few different 9mm.'s and fig .40 would be nice step up in power.
thanks in advance.

I own 2 M&P 40's, full size and compact. I use both as duty weapons and am totally happy with my selection. I carry the full size for work each day and the compact as backup. I must admit that I was a bit skeptable at first about the grip size for the "C" but qualified with both weapons just fine. A very dependable gun with no problems.

There are actually 4 versions, FS, L, C, and Pro
C = small frame 3.5" Bbl.
FS = Standard frame 4.25" Bbl.
L = Standard frame 5" Bbl and slide (all other parts same as standard C and FS)
Pro = Standard frame 5" or 4.25" Bbl and slide, S&W comp. trigger, night sights.
I put an APEX DCAEK kit in my 40 FS and love it, I also did TruGlo TFO sights. I think you will enjoy any of them, and I have been seeing federal 180 Gr FMJ within $ 1.00 of 9mm for a box of 100.

I have a .40fs and love it. Fits my hand like a glove and shoots great. Has all the accuracy I can use given by old eyes and coffee addiction.

I have the full size,no lock,no safety and no mag disconnect. The only problem I have had was the front sight dot came off. I have read this is a common problem but easily fixed with sight paint. It is one of my favorite pistols and has never jammed. After you get used to the trigger it is a dream to shoot. You will not regret your choice if you do get one.

I, too have a full size m&p 40 with no lock, no safety, & no mag disconnect. I have had it for 1 yr now and love it! I have shot probably close to 2000 rounds w/o any problems. I shoot 165 gr Winchester target loads. You can pick up 100 round box at Walmart for $31.97. Pistol is easy to clean and disassemble/reassemble. No regrets and I'd highly recommend you add it to your collection.

all of the tlr lights come with a few different "keys" that you can swap out for certain gun models. the m&p works fine with the standard "GL" key that comes pre-installed on the light. if you decide you have to switch it for whatever reason it is just a single hex screw and an allen wrench is provided.

I have only had my FS M&P 40 for a few weeks now, but love it. I shot quite a few guns when deciding and this one felt the best. I am glad I got it as it shoots great.

I love my M&P 40...smooth right out of the box. I would never even think of changing anything on or in it....why? Because it shoots great, feels great, and performs to perfection...think I'll just leave this bad boy alone.

I've owned a few full size 40's and shot many others.
I noticed that in my hands the full size M&P 40 is the softest shooting 40 out there. Recoil is not an issue.
And with all M&P guns, they are accurate and reliable.

Re: tell me about the m&p 40 full size please
I too love my .40FS It fits my hand like it was made for it with the large back strap. Before I even fired it I dry fired it about 250 times. It's as smooth as can be and breaks very crisp. This addition has to be one of my all time favorite semi's. Good Luck & Peace,

I've had my .40 FS for 1 1/2 weeks. Only put a little over 300 Rds through it, but already absolutely love it. It is a real cream puff to fire.
Enjoy!

I've had the FS .40 for about 2 months and put over 1,000 rounds though it without a problem. I'm very impressed with the low recoil. It's hard to tell any difference in recoil between the the M&P 9c and the FS .40. I also have an S&W sigma .40 and that one has twice the recoil of the M&P. I reload all my ammo and have put some really hot rounds though it with no problems and low recoil.
All the M&Ps are very easy to field strip and clean. Even doing a complete disassembly is easy. After the first time it takes me about 15 minutes to completely disassemble, clean, and re-assemble the weapon and I'm old and slow.

I got the range/carry kit. I love it. I'm new to shooting so cant compare it to much. The one thing i noticed is how far the cases eject. They eject far and nowhere near me. Like i said new here so dont know if that will change. But we tested other guns and some the cases hit you while firing.

I too have the FS .40 and absolutely love this gun. I purchased this one right after Christmas 2012. It is a breeze to shoot with little recoil. I also reload my own ammo. I was torn between the .40 and the .45 ACP. Glad that I picked the 40. It fits like a glove with the large backstrap. I have put 500 rounds through this gun and have not had a problem or a jamb
