Holsters that fit the Pro C.O.R.E. 5"
Here are two holsters that I know will accommodate the taller sights that come on the Pro C.O.R.E. models and cover the front sight so it does not get hung up on the draw.
Bladetech Revolution OWB: This is the one that comes with the carry & range kit. You can find it for $25-$30 all day long. I use this one for general range carry and for action pistol. This is an injection molded plastic holster, not kydex. The muzzle does go past the end of the body of the holster, but the rear of the tall front sight is still within the boundary of the body of the holster. It comes with a paddle or the belt loop option pictured.
Comp-Tac Minotaur MTAC IWB: I use this for CC. Note the front sight is completely covered on this one. I had a hard time confirming an IWB for this weapon two months ago when I purchased it. I was browsing recently and noticed that Comp-Tac add a model description M&P Pro 5" and bit the bullet and got it. This one is $90 so I was relieved to find that it covers the sights!

I have a Blade Tech Revolution 9c model that I use for CC on my compact. I also use the same holster for IDPA, the end of the slide protrudes but the sights on my Pro CORE clear with no problem and I haven't had any problems is the 6 months of competition using this setup. Makes it kind of handy not to have to change holsters when I get to the match.

Great post. I've been looking for one for mine. It looks like the first one will even work with a red dot mounted.

I don't have any optics on my CORE (yet) but it looks like the Blade Tech will clear them as well (no, I don't work for Blade Tech ) I've attached a few pics including one with the compact for comparison.

I got a M&P 9 FS when they first came out in a range kit. It had the S&W logoed Bladetech with it (same open ended one you have pictured). Thing is my M&P Pro 5" does not fit it (can't find it or would show pic). What's pictured here is my Pro 5" and the first Bladetech M&P Pro IDPA pack holster that was available for it (pre revolution). A CORE 5" fits in it perfectly with plenty of clearance for front sight. I believe the gun will still fit with most reflex/holo sights. At most a slight bit of holster trimming at that bottom right curve.

Yes it is (I had to go back and look, it was just what was lying at my desk).

I have the Comp-Tac International and I am very pleased with it. Very secure fit, fully adjustable and it worked well with the optic mounted on the weapon. It is a little bit pricey but well worth it...plus it came with attachments to make it a paddle holster or a belt holster. Comfortable, secure, versatile an fast...very good holster.
The Comp-Tac International (1911 model) also works well with Sig 1911's that are sometimes not quite the best fit in other holsters.

With the Comp Tac International I can not say that I have seen any noticeable wearing on my M&P CORE. However, on my Sig 1911 used in the 1911 Comp Tac there is a small amount of wearing on top of the slide in front of the ejection port...but I haven't played around with the tension screw too much yet to see if this helps.
