Default Glock vs. M&P-yup. I'm askin' it.

Yup, I'm asking it--BUT--it's not the kind of thread you may think it is...

I like Glocks. Good guns. Simple, reliable, accurate. I've owned a fair number of them and have to admit the G17L I owned for a while was a helluva gun. Made me look like a better shooter than I really am, and honestly, I'm not all that terrible.

Their grip doesnt suit me-I like the angle, but it feels like a two by four.

I. LOVE. THE. TRIGGER. RESET. OF. GLOCKS.

Period.

Short and very positive. Good stuff.

For those who have owned Glocks and switched to M&Ps-why the switch?

Does the steel sub-assembly of the M&P feel more robust? Do the controls feel a little more substantial?

I have to admit, Glocks feel a little cheap when I disassemble them for cleaning. One of the best feeling polymer guns in terms of build quality (is that an oxymoron?) Was a Steyr. Horrible trigger, weird sights, poor reliability. Felt like a polymer Rolls Royce otherwise.

I have an irrational desire to own a poly gun again. I'm a steel kind of guy, so this makes no sense to me.

I'm a member of this forum for a reason-I like S&W.

Tell me why you prefer the M&P over Glock or others. I'd like to hear your opinions and experiences.

Best,

Heekma

I own neither pistol.

Glock and M&Ps to my hands feel like some villainous gunsmith changed the trigger to a light switch .Both pistols work well as mass market tools, but seeing as how I must earn my money to buy firearms I refuse to pay one red cent for a firearm that sells with a substandard trigger.

As far as polymer vs metal is concerned the only thing about the material that bothers me is that gunmakers sell polymer frame pistols at prices identical to those of metal frame competitors when they cost a fraction of the metal firearm to manufacture. More power to those firms to rake in the money, but I will not join the lemmings jumping off the 'Tactical' cliff.

M&P over Glock. I own the M&P .45. I like the M&P for all the reasons you stated except that Glock does have a nicer trigger reset and easier to see sights. Std white dot. My M&P is a tack driver. I will put it up against any off the shelf gun at 4-15 yards. (Standard Self defense distance) I have over 3000 rounds through it without 1 FTFor FTL problem.
I also have a Ruger SR9C. It has a great trigger reset and great feel in my hand. But it is much more finicky when it come to FTL's. Ammo sensitive.
That said.. the "mass marketed" Polymer guns have been on the hands of LEO's for awhile now and the do exactly what they are supposed to do.
All that said... I still like the idea of an all metal gun. Just seems right. I want to buy a model 39x & 59x within the next year. But the M&P is still a very good weapon.

IMO, Glocks and M&Ps are on the same level. The only thing that would make one better then the other is personal use of the gun. For me, I would pick the m&p for the mare fact that the M&P fits my big hands better than a G19. The web of my hand is way to close to the G19's slide for me to carry one.

I still have my glock 23 and it is an excellent handgun. I like the M&P a little better because of the thumb safety.

Both are good guns, excellent for the money, it depends on what feels better in your hand. Glocks are based on the luger grip angle, M&P's more the 1911. While I appreciate Glocks for the fine firearms they are, I despise the grip angle, therefore M&P's are my choice.

That said, if you like them equally, Glock parts are cheaper and offer more drop in options. Go with Glock.

I would tell you to go and try both guns if you have that as an option.
Both are very good guns and your opinion should be the deciding factor.
The M&P fit may hand better but I ended up trading both my 9mm and 45, & Ruger LC9 for a S&W 1911 and three S&W revolvers. Steel/alum guns just feel better in my hands but that is my opinion. You need to make that decision for yourself. Good luck and let us know what you do.
Frank.

I have Glocks and M&Ps in both 9mm and .45 ACP. I prefer the Glocks. Probably for reasons that are subtle. Less top heavy, better recoil characteristics, MUCH better trigger. M&P is okay, heck even good, just prefer the Glocks. I admit that I haven't spent extra money for the M&P trigger upgrades from APEX and that could make them better.

I like my full-size M&P 40 better than my G21SF,but I like my G23/G19 better than my M&P.Purely a pistol-to-pistol preferrence for me.I feel perfectly comfortable using either in a CCW or Home Defense role.

I had an S&W M&P/9 for awhile but sold it because I found myself shooting my other 9mms more, not because I was dissatisfied with the gun. I liked the M&P a lot, and shot much better with it AFTER I got an Apex trigger job. I've shot Glocks and like them in spite of the grip angle. If I were starting all over from scratch, I'd pick the stock Glock over the stock M&P, but if you factor in an Apex trigger job for the M&P they're pretty close for me; opinions of others may differ because it's a personal preference kind of thing. M&P magazines were hard to find for awhile and remained exorbitantly priced even when the supplies were better. The market seems to be awash in all kinds of Glock mags and they appear to be much more reasonably priced.

I own Glock's, Springfield XD's and have shot M&P's quite a bit. (I prefer S&W revolvers, but I digress.) If I was limited to only one handgun, it would be a full size M&P in .40 S&W. YMMV

I have owned a Glock 17 for years now. I agree on the trigger being better. But I recently bought a M&P40c. The trigger may not be as good, but is slowly polishing up very well. I don't feel the need for the Apex parts in mine. I may get a little more serious with the polishing but only more for the curiosity that for the need. I'm thinking I may try the SD40 next. I had a SW40VE that I already regret selling. The gun had smoothed out very well with some polishing. I really enjoyed the smooth heavy sort of double action revolver trigger pull that she had. I may end up doing that one all over again. If Glock ever dumps the rounded 2x4 grip frame then everyone had better watch out since that's the only serious draw back to the design IMHO.

Have owned a Glock 23 & 22. Now own a M&P Pro and Compact. They feel much better in hand than the Glocks. Don't miss my Glocks at all.

I own a Glock 17, and would like to buy a 9mm full size M&P.

My Glock 17 is reliable and accurate and it's a tool that does it's intended purpose. I don't have the urge to collect them.

I do have a late production 5906 and the gun is flawless, dead reliable and super accurate. With it's all steel frame, I don't think I'll see the day I'll wear this one out. So, since I already have a nice 9mm S&W I haven't had the burning desire for an M&P.

I have had Glocks in one form or another for years (currently consolidated on .40 S&W in 22, 23, and 27). I got a couple M&P's (.40 S&W fullsize and compact) to try out. I tinkered with the M&P's (Apex and factory parts). M&P's started showing rust on sights, sub frame, slide catch. I ended up selling off the M&P's. Glad I kept my Glocks during M&P try out phase, could never get a satisfactory trigger feel with M&P's. Thinking about picking up a couple more Glocks in 9MM and 10MM.

Always preferred the Glocks to the S&W M&P. They just shoot better for me....YMMV.

I'm surprised to hear that many like the Glock trigger better than the M&P.

I've owned a G27 for several years now and my one complaint is the horrible trigger. There's just nothing that can be done about it. Glock triggers are just mediocre.

The other day I was dry firing an M&P 9mm at the store. The trigger was much better than my Glock. Less travel/creep and lighter.

I guess it depends on what you're used to.

I think they are pretty much the same. I like them both but own the M&P because I liked the company. If I had purchased the Glock I think I'd like it just as much.

So I guess my answer is the company, S&W.

i have several glocks 19,26.23.27.32 30,36. i guess you could consider me a gloclaholic. the glocks have been retired and replaced by M&P 40c and 45 midsize, it seems S&W upped on on glock, more rounds in the mag, better sights and grip feel. I like the idea of steel mags (although i never ever had a problem with glock mags). The S&W just feels better in my hand. These are just my thoughts. ( i will NOT give up my glocks)
Almost like owning a certain brand of car, I am on my 3rd Nissan Pathfinder Last one had 210,000 miles ran tight as hell. I have an 2006 with over 100,000 i will always but a nissan pathfinder, COmes down to what your comfortable with

That is all
Carry on

Does the M&P have an external safety bar/switch/lever. If so I would never own one simply for that fact. Only safety I want to be concerned about is finger off the Trigger unless someone needs to be stopped doing the bad act they are doing. I have A Sig Pro 2340 I bought simply for the reason of no safety lever. Would not own a gun with one except my AR's, no choice there.

I have both G17 and M&P9. There's things I like & dislike about each. My G17 has never failed in any way...not once! I have Dawson Precision sights and a 3.5# connector in it. I shoot it well and have 100% confidence in it.

I actually shoot the M&P better & faster due to the grip angle. I struggle to keep the G17 sights on plane, but the M&P comes up to a natural POA for me. Love that, and the ergonomics of the grip are second to none.

I like my G17 trigger better for all the aforementioned reasons, but honestly haven't done the Apex tricks to the M&P yet.

The deciding factor for me today would be reliability.

G17 is 100% after 1000's of rounds. The M&P is new (200 rounds so far) and has had a fairly high failure rate with some ammo. Even the ammo that does feed does not do so smoothly. Hand cycling with any ammo is about a 75% failure rate. I have two more brands of ammo to try, then it's off to S&W for repair. If they fix it so I can rely on it, then I would probably pick the M&P over the G17 due to it's "shootability" factor for me.

I like M&P better because for me they point better than a Glock. I tend to shoot high with a Glock.

That being said, I'd definitely consider selling or trading the M&P if a nice 3G Smith semi auto came along and called out to me.

I carry either a CS9 or the M&P most of the time and both are comfortable to carry. I just like the 3Gs a bit more.

Hand guns are like most other products, it's all about how they feel to the individual.

I have a G19 that has been my EDC for 5 years it has 25,000+ rounds through it, has been through several classes and I have shot several matches with it. It is stock besides the Ameriglow idot pro sights. I carry it every day all day and it has never let me down. It has little finish left on it but no rust and it almost never gets wiped down.
I also have a M&Ppro9 the second one I have owned. I enjoy shooting it and shoot it no differently then my Glock. Just line the sights up and squeeze. They both shoot point of aim for the most part. I only have 1000 rounds or so through the M&P. I detest the trigger! The way it bends in the middle it makes my trigger finger ride on the bottom of the trigger guard. There is no noticeable reset and the travel seems much longer than my G19. I have grip tape on the front and back of the grip to keep it from sliding in my grip. It has never been an issue before with other guns I have fired extensively. I have had to replace on of the $40 magazines because of dropping it half full on the deck. I have 5 year old Glock magazines that have been dropped for years and only had one that I had to trash.
I do like the feel of the grip on the M&P and I do enjoy shooting it and don't shoot it badly even fast. It has been reliable and the cost was less than a Glock. I will continue to carry my G19 daily but will run the M&P this year in IDPA and maybe take a class with it. I want to like it, I do like it. But it will not replace a Glock in my stable yet. But it is just 3 weeks old.
I say give each of them a try and see which you like best. Everyone is going to be different. To be honest you really cannot go wrong with either.

Coke vs. Pepsi

I own an MP 40 Pro Series, my son is a LEO and his carry is a Glock 21. He also owns a Glock 22. The MP just sits in my hand better. He likes the Glock.

The Made in U.S.A. part plays into my thoughts too.

My primary shooter for the longest time was a Glock 17 and after more than two decades, if I'm going deep into the woods alone, that stalwart companion's coming along--I trust it intrinsically. I have a very sweet Glock 27 that came with with a nickel boron slide and barrel at no extra cost that I've come to like--it's very low maintainance and quite accurate for its size.

All that said, my primary shooter/carry pistol around town is now an M&P 40c. Maybe over time, it will prove as reliable as the Glocks--so far, so good. I think I got a slightly better than normal trigger out of the box, but my Glock's still have smoother triggers overall.

Personally, I can work around the difference in triggers and as said, I prefer the M&P and that's because it just feels a bit better (ergonomically) in my hands than do the Glocks. I can carry it and draw an M&P easier--it feels more like a natural extension of my body than do Glocks. The Glocks feel a bit cold and blocky in comparison, even though I'm used to them.

As I shoot the M&P more and more, the trigger is breaking in a bit but I've never been much for 'trigger jobs'. I knew it wasn't a Sig or HK going in and didn't want to make it into such.

I feel that in a way, a gun to an experienced shooter is like a musicial instrument to a practiced musician--if you learn to work well with what's in your hands with good fundamental skills, you can get good results with a variety of equipment. Some of the greatest musicians, as well as photographers (Ansel Adams for one) spoke very strongly on how you don't need expensive equipment to get wonderful results--it's how you sense things--how you work with what's in your hands. I feel that way about guns.

From when I was old enough to hold a rifle--a Daisy BB gun that I was able to shoot down clothes lines or shooting from the hip, take out frogs with (bad, I know)--I have felt that a lot of times, it's more the user than the equipment itself that determines results. I'm glad I came up poor and had some real low budget guns, as it taught me to work with and appreciate what I had, then as well as now.

Both are good guns. I have a M&P 9 and a Glock30sf. Not to mention that I had a G17 & a G22. If I had to have only one I believe my choice would be the M&P mainly because of the ergonomics.

I have a M&P9 Pro and a Gen4 G17. I shoot both well, but I do shoot the M&P better. I also shoot the M&P 9c better than the G26, even though the 26 has a better stock trigger. No contest with an APEX trigger upgrade.

I don't think the Glock has better recoil characteristics as mentioned above. Nor is that famous Glock reliability up to par. My Gen4 17 has needed a new RSA and still needs a new ejector and extractor.

You really can't talk to the Glock guys about it, but IMO Glock is falling behind. S&W and Walther putting out better comparable products.

I shot the Glock 21 and the full size M&P 45 before choosing the M&P 45. I agree with everyone about the Glock's stock trigger being superior to the M&P's. I have installed the APEX tactical kit in my M&P, but left the (weaker) stock trigger spring in. According to an APEX tech. I spoke with, this gives me a trigger pull of between 4-4 1/2lbs. (instead of the 5 1/2lbs. the APEX spring produces). I have chosen not to install the replacement short take-up trigger as I use this gun for personal defense, as well as target shooting. The smoothness and decreased pull make this pistol nicer than the Glock, IMHO. I have also installed a set of green Truglo tritium/fiber optics sights (my eyes don't work as well as they used to). They're huge, but I can see them in any light. The way this gun shoots makes me look good.

I personally think Smith and Wesson could make their M&P auto's triggers smoother with less pull for little or nothing more than it costs them to make the stock (******) ones. Maybe they feel that this is an entry level gun and want to make sure no one pulls the trigger unless they want to or maybe they want people to move up to their "Pro" line of guns, but if an $80. kit (APEX) can make a good gun into a great gun, why not install it? The quality of the APEX kits meet or exceed the quality of the stock parts, so I expect reliability to be as good or better than a stock gun. Installing an APEX kit takes nothing away from the gun, only adds.

Both the Glock and S&W M&P line are reliable pistols. It boils down to the ergonomics. I shoot two Glocks and 3 S&W M&P's. I perefer the egonomics of the S&W M&P line and have a fondness for the older S&W99 with it's unique ambidextrous mag release.

I agree-I'm a lefty and gravitated to both Glock and M&P because they're nearly ambidextrous. The M&P was first with different size interchangeable back straps in its' class-Glock followed suit with their Gen 4, but the Gen 4 grips still don't fit me as well as the M&P's.

I have both, and they are both quality pistols. I just prefer the grip angle of the M&P. But, I had to add the Apex parts to get the trigger to my liking. And just to throw a monkey wrench into the works here, another couple of polymer striker fired pistols that I'm real fond of are the Springfield XDM and the new Walther PPQ.

Plus 1 on the PPQ. XDM, eh, maybe if the price drops.

Had a G20. glocks do not point well for me, do not sit well in my hand.
M&ps are the first poly pistols I have liked. I have carried others due to lite weight for my CCw. the M&Ps feel like a well made weapon, shoot very well, are backed by a good company. I have 3 full size and 3 compact M&Ps and not one malfunction among them. Now if they would make a 10...........

I agree. It is hard to talk about what makes a pistol "feel" well-made, but there is a distinct difference between the two, IMO. Glocks always seem "cheesy" to me.

Both are good guns for their intended purpose. The stock Glock trigger is better. The S&W ergonomics are better. I can fix the trigger. (Shouldn't have to, but I can.) Can't do anything about the horrid grip-angle. I also object to the blocky slide of the Glock and prefer the more streamlined M&P, which I think makes the gun carry better.

I too hope that someday S&W will manufacture an M&P10. Waiting patiently...

Both good guns. I purchased a G30 when they were introduced. Ditto for the M&P 45.
In my hands, with many different loads, the Glock always shot better. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. I put much of that to the M&P trigger. Installed an Apex kit that didn't make much difference. So, the M&P was relegated to the back of the safe and eventually traded for a nice Model 681.

Boy, this is a tough one. I was diametrically opposed to the Glock thing from day one, and refused to be drawn in. A firm believer in 3rd Gens, I was thrilled when S&W came out with the M&P. I loved the feel, and had to have one. Started with a .40, then a .45, and then a 9. They are fantastic guns, they shoot where you point, digest all ammo and go "boom" every time.

Then a few years ago a friend gave me his Glock 19. Wife didn't want guns in the house because kids were getting bigger. Hey, free gun - why not. Took it to the range, and the Glock mystique reeled me right in. That little 9 was like an extension of my hand, slightly smaller than the FS M&P's, but more balanced (and +2) than the M&Pc. Uh-oh, now what...well, that G19 was a Gen2 and I hated the grip, but the Gen3 with the fingergrooves was much more comfortable, and did you know they make a compact 10mm (G29) and how about .45GAP in a small frame like the G19? See where I am going here??

They are tools. Glock has it figured out. The guns work. Easy to work on, easy to clean, they function well, they go "boom" ALL the time. Smith has a great product with the M&P line, excellent weapons, and I think they are on a par with the Glock - and because they are Smith and Wesson products I will always hold them in a higher regard.

Answer? There is no answer. I carry them both with equal confidence. From a shooting standpoint I think I like the M&P .40, you can't beat the firepower and mine shoots like a dream. Good balance, easy to bring back on target, never a hiccup. And it is a Smith. When I need something a little more concealable, with equal abilities, I usually go with one of the Glocks. Like I said, there is no answer.

Boy did I go full circle...

P.S. I took my 5903 for a jaunt the other day, just for old time sakes! Still felt good.

Long-time Glock shooter here. I've owned MANY, and still had 3 until this morning.
At an IDPA match last weekend, a friend was kind enough to let me shoot his M&P 45. I have NEVER been able to shoot a completely unfamiliar gun that well. I couldn't miss from 10 yards. I came home and promptly ordered a new M&P Pro 5" in .40 and sold my G35s today! The M&P just feels better to me.

Shot a glock well, but the M&P 9 fits my hand better than any pistol.

It also points and shoots exceptionally well, and feeds every ammo I ran through it, including old nasty junk, hollow points, fmj without a hitch straight out of the box new.

Hard to beat that.

In the Glock line, I think I've shot about everything. The only M&Ps I've fired were the 40 and 45 full size. The first of the two S&Ws I shot was the 40 and was impressed that I was back up on target faster than with a Glock 40. I had read that the M&P triggers sucked, but didn't notice the trigger on that first pistol being excessively heavy, or rough, or not having a positive reset. I carry the 45 most of the time and like the way it conceals over a Glock 21, of which I've owned two. The trigger of that pistol is noticibly heavier than a 5.5 lb Glock, but only by a pound or so and was never gritty even when brand new. Since it doesn't have its trigger safety protruding from the trigger face, I do not blister my trigger finger when shooting 300 plus rounds at a time. I always thought the Glock pointed decent until I found the M&P, which points better. The M&P's grip fits my hand better. Glock makes the 19 and 23 which fit a unique nitch of a pistol that both conceals well with a decent size magazine capacity. I've got a 1st Generation 17 and a 2nd Gen 19 that have always been reliable. If I was going into harm's way in a harsh environment, I would feel most comfortable with a G17. It is simple, rugged, and reliable. I'd like to see someone with more money than I have conduct a torture test of the M&P the way they've been done to Glocks. Larry Vickers of Tac TV has done some side-by-sides of 3rd and 4th Generation Glock 17s, and of the Daniels Defense M4. Maybe he will see this and get intersted in such a test for the M&P.

I own both Glocks and M&P's like them both and shoot both about the same. I could live with either one if I had to but I also like wheel guns and 1911's. Between the two plastic guns you can't go wrong.

I have four S&Ws, three revovlers and a 2206 so I am a fan. I have never owned a Glock or M&P but I have heard good things about both. I bought a new 92fs last summer and I don't have a desire to even try a Glock or an M&P. Maybe with time that will change but my Beretta is as close to perfection for me as it has gotten so far.

I went to the range yesterday and rented a gen 4 G19. I keep thinking I need one but every time I shoot it with my M&P 9 I just like the M&P better. To me the size difference is minimal and you get two more rounds with the m&p so I really don't see a need for the G19 right now. Like I said earlier they are both good guns it is personal preference. I am not a fan of the full size Glocks because of the grip angle.

The Glock tends to bang the middle knuckle of my middle finger when I hold it and fire it ( the finger under my trigger finger). The S&W does not. Just that simple.

ToddG did a torture test on the M&P.

I also don't know if you can make comparisons like Ford vs Chevy when Glock isn't even an American company, even though I understand why people bring it up. Well what is a good analogy, I can't think of one either.

I had a Glock 23C and planned on using it as my CCW, but it was way to snappy. I then eventually got a XDM9 and then got a M&P9L with Apex FSS, too big to CC though for my size. Overall the M&P just points easier than all of them though. I did shoot mfgr guns the last 3 years every April (~ 75+ guns to choose from) and shot the M&P9 4.25" (among many others). After I shot the M&P9 I started to research it for a year taking notes here and there in Word docs. Then 1 year and 2 months ago at my LGS's mfgr shooter show I shot the M&P9 FS and M&P9C side by side and that's when I had to sell the XDM9 to get a M&P9. This past April 2012 I shot the G17 Gen4 and the *ergos were much better* than the Gen3's I thought (yes a full size gun, but still could tell since just shot the M&P9). However it gave me a lot of extraction issues, they are very real, just search the internet. One mag I think I got 4 extraction issues. That would be very annoying though and there's no way you could CC a Gen4 9mm if it had that problem. However I know that Apex is working on a fix for it, I also know that *not all* of the late model Gen3's and Gen4's have this issue though. However I did the Pro V Sim 300 last summer and shot very well with the full size G22 (had to be Gen3 ?), I just would of done better if they had the M&P as an option. Before I started I kept repositioning my hand, but once you went fake “hot” in the sims you forget about it. Why I got a Glock Gen 3 10+ years ago was because of it’s “worry-free trail/woods/dirt and sweat proof tool seems like a good idea”. Read the torture tests and high round counts, same for the M&P. I will say that Glock fanboys are kind of like Mac ones though (good PC's, but they are NOT anywhere near as secure as people say they are), sometimes annoying.

However with the M&P9's in the last 2 years (maybe 3?) they do have a *very big problem with accuracy, some get 8" plus out to 25 yards from a rest (total BS) [[ Only 9mm's though, Compacts less chance of a big problem because of shorter barrel and dwell time issues ]]. I know the last half of 2011 it seems an even higher percentage of them have problems with accuracy than previous ones. The stock triggers are *horrible*, but I didn't even shoot my new M&P9L before I installed the Apex FSS & Trigger since it was very, very gritty. Of course those mfgr rep M&P's triggers were nice though, but they could of had 2k, 5k or even 8k+ on them for all I knew. I think S&W needs to seriously make an effort to fix the triggers on all of the M&P's, Pro's included, Pro's should have the FSS & Trigger kit in them (maybe wait for the Apex polymer trigger at least if S&W wants to save money). Granted the Pro will cost a fair amount more than now, but it would be worth it to most I'd assume once they shot the Apex kit, they also could adjust the trigger pull from 3.0 lbs. to 5.5 lbs.

Now the accuracy issue they need to fix right now. I was thinking of going the M&P40 route and just get a 9mm conversion barrel for it to fix the accuracy issue. That way could make 40 minor and more likely sub minor rounds sometimes and have 2 guns in one. I like the M&P9 that much, but hate the accuracy of it. Saying all of this, all the 9mm's are still good enough under 7 yards for self defense, but beyond that some of them will run a higher risk of hitting something beyond your target, granted I think it's small, but it's still there. Who's to say you won't have to shoot past 15 yards or so, and under stress, anyone's guess what will happen.

There is someone with a M&P9 getting 1" and under groups out to 25 yards from a rest (low wind). You have to look it up because of forum rules.

Because of the accuracy issues of the M&P9's I started a new Word Doc on the Gen4's last week. I am planning on getting into reloading to make minor and mostly sub minor loads so from the research on Glocks was told should get an aftermarket barrel if shooting lead, so then the costs were really high for the Glock. However others have said it's not that big of a deal if you Flitz or similar the barrels and maintain them. Also I'd would of liked that Glockworx Fulcrum trigger setup which is essentially the same cost or even more with some of the options you can choose compared to the Apex FSS & Trigger. This time I may just do the Apex Comp AEK Aluminum trigger and spring kit to save a little bit more money, but have to research it a little bit more. I did have the 3.5 lb. connector on my G23C and I like it. I know if I got the Glock and would keep it, I would at least get the Tech V4 Race Connector and the Competition Spring Kit. It's not going to compare to the Glockworx Fulcrum setup or the Apex FSS & Trigger bit it's way cheaper. For an M&P, even a Pro I'd still at least put in a couple Apex parts and really polish everything up.

Saying all of that, I have been searching Arms**** for a good deal on a M&P9 or a Glock G17,G19 Gen4. I came across a G19 Gen4 for $460 today which is what they should cost anyways (online prices, but they don't) and just missed it, even though I reload that page like 10+ times a day. I would sell the Glock Gen4 once I knew the 1" and under barrel was ready to go. I also have been trying to buy more American products, which is hard, but if the M&P really sucked then even American made I wouldn't buy it, but I do love it.
