Default M&P 9mm damage report

Hello, I am new to the S&W forum. I need to ask a favor from the already existing members. Can you please look at a video I posted on Youtube about the damage that has occurred on my M&P 9mm? The damage is very minor but it has me worried. Please take a look at my video and let me know what you think. Thank you! And, please don't be too critical of the minor damage. I am new to firearms and this is my first hand gun. I will post the link at the bottom of this thread. Again, thanks for all of you that decide to view my video!

I's send it back to Smith and let them decide if it's a QA issue or not. I don't really see an issue other than cosmetic.

Why did you not send it to S&W? They stand behind ther guns.

Looks like manufacturing defect to me. I doubt it will affect usability all it could affect, IMHO, is resale value. I'd contact S&W and explain the situation...

I'd send it back to S&W, but I don't think you should have removed the cracked piece and I certainly would not have sanded it down. S&W would have liked to see it as it was.

Try to get a good, in-focus photo, then send an email with short description with the photo to S&W customer service. This worked well for me.

Quick guess there was a problem with the overmold of that particular lower, and that flaw in the corner wasn't spotted. Your the slide working back and forth likely opened that flaw. I can't see well it but if it cannot be repaired (likely) it will need replaced.

Under their warranty typically S&W will send you a Fed-Ex or UPS prepaid label, with instructions. In my case when my one revolver frame was replaced they shipped it to a FFL since I got a new serial number and it had to be re-registered.

Thanks for the comments guys. I just sent it back to S&W for the evaluation. So, we will see if they stand behind their products. To make it more painful I had just received the gun back from S&W one day earlier. I just had the gun in for repairs. And, after the video was constructed I noticed another section of damage on the firearm. There is some type of "Metal Shaving" that is accruing on the firing pin portion of the firearm. Well, we will see what they have to say. Thanks again.

And, I didn't sand the gun. I was only going to sand the gun if Smith was not going to fix the problem. But, the gun has been sent in and hopefully they fix the issue.
