New holster system available for M&P's

So I just got an email from Lynch Combat Systems (Lynch Combat Systems) and they said that they now have moldings for M&P's. Here is the email they sent me:

Yes we absolutely plan to produce the M&P line and it will be the next series we offer.
There are molding options for the following models.
M&P 9
M&P 9 compact
M&P 40
M&P 40 compact
M&P 45
Please let us know if you are interested in a holster for any of these models.

Anything in works for the M&P Shield?

I have no idea. I just asked them about the standard M&P as that is what I will be getting next month. I doubt that there are any molds out for them yet, so I think kydex holsters for the Shield may still take a while to come to market.

Sounds interesting. But, their web page is just awful due to the red lettering on a black back ground. Hope it's just my browser, and it's manipulation of their data.

I am always on the hunt for a better IWB holster, and their product sounds good.

Yeah, the page is a bit hard to get over, but if you go to the top and click "products", there is a better break down of the products. I plan to get the total package at the (slightly) discounted rate.

Raven Concealment Systems

These guys are fantastic...in fact they may be the originators of that Kydex modular holster design. I have 3 of their holsters plus several other items manufactured by them. They are 100% a class act, well worth the wait time and price. Their warranty is out of this world, too.

I like the Raven holsters, but I like saving $50 a bit more.

Can't blame you there on that, $50 is $50.

I hope to never have to use Raven's warranty but the ends they go to in order to make their users happy is well worth that extra $50. They actually replaced a guy's mag pouch he bought off of another individual and that individual actually modified it before trading it off. The recipient of the Raven simply contacted Tom there and asked if it was actually one of their products or if somebody was trying to pass of a knock-off as a Raven. Tom said it was theirs and had that guy send it to him...and they sent him a brand new one out no questions asked. Turned out the guy who originally bought the double-mag pouch tried heating it up in order to shape it to accept a different size magazine and then sold it without telling the buyer. Raven stepped in and made right a deal that didn't even concern them...in fact it actually cost them money since they sent him a replacement for a holster they didn't even sell to that guy.

Plus it helps that they are based in the midwest and are a sight supporter for several of the shooting-based websites I frequent so I gotta put my money where my mouth is!

OWB it looks to be OK, but the IWB makes no sense to me. sure no hooks/straps are showing, but you have to strap the holster to yourself.

Danno man, part of that is so you can carry while wearing something other than jeans or other belt accepting pants/shorts. You can throw on a pair of sweats and still have an IWB on you and run to the corner store or take the dog for a walk. You also don't have to worry about your holster pulling your pants down while hitting the latrine. I can see some people liking those aspects of the holster.

Don't all holsters have to be strapped to yourself somehow?

I personally like the idea of the so-called "retention strap" in this Lynch design. It is really an underbelt so that the holster can be worn IWB without having to attach to the trouser belt. Great idea.

This allows it to be worn either IWB like a "Summer Special" or Tuckable (like Cross Breed), but without the unsightly and unworkable spring clips, snap loops, J hooks or whatever, which screams "I am carrying a not-very-concealed firearm."

The fact that you can "sit on the toilet and do your business" without having to unholster or find a place to leave your pistol when you are doing so is a great idea.

I know a cop who left his pistol in the public toilet - fortunately no one found it before he realized - while doing his business.

This underbelt (the web site uses the unfortunate term "retention strap," which implies something else entirely) allows your to drop your pants to the floor without having your pistol and holster drop down there as well when taking care of business.

The article they have on their web site about the guy whose CCW pistol fell from the IWB holster when he tried to pull his pants back up after he finished using the toilet is a "must read." No one wants to have the embarrassment of blowing up a public toilet and having porcelain "shrapnel" dug out of themselves after such an episode!

The underbelt allows holster and pistol to stay put around your waist while sitting on the toilet.

If Lynch could fix their web site to make it readable (the dark red print against the black background just doesn't work for me), and if they could make ordering on line easier and more automated, and if they could get models of more pistols, they would be off and running!

I wish them luck.

I don't think I would want to leave it on while doing business on the toilet. Also not thinking I want to wear another belt under my pants. How are the 2 halves held together, just by folding them over?

Yes, but using this holster iwb, you now have the strap holding it to the body, and a regular belt. Also what prevents the strap/holster from shifting up? With traditional belt holster pants can only ride so far up.
