M&P 9C as a Carry Gun
I recently bought an M&P 9 for the range. I love it so much that I would consider getting the 9 Compact as a carry gun, but don't know how it would work as a carry weapon. Just to back up a bit, I traded my Kel Tec PF9 when I got the M&P. I just wasn't happy with the long, stiff trigger pull and the general discomfort of the shooting. The closest thing that I have now to a carry weapon is an old FEG PA 63 (Makarov), which shoots just fine, but is certainly much larger than the Kel Tec. When I compare the overall dimensions of the M&P Compact to the PA63, it seems comparable in size. When I did carry (which was not too often) I used a pocket holster.
Does anyone use the M&P 9C as a carry weapon? I would like to know if this is too bulky to carry in the pocket.

I don't have a compact (yet) but have handled and shot one. Its not for pocket carry. Its the same width as the full size, the grip is just about 1.2" shorter. Unless you are a big guy with big pockets you had better go IWB.

I carry my M&P 9c quite often in an Blackhawk OWB holster or a Crossbreed Supertuck. I have a Mika IWB on order. I have never carried the 9c in a pocket, but would consider it in a coat pocket.
For pocket carry I use a BG380.

I use the 40c as my CC gun and I'm very happy with it! I carry IWB with a simple leather holster.

The 9c will carry well in a Supertuck, but is too big for a pant pocket unless you're talking cargo pants.

I think it is too big for pocket carry. I carry mine in a Comp Tac Minotaur. This combo works very well for me.

Too much for pocket carry but works well IWB. The Ruger LC9 is probably what I'd go with for pocket carry. 380s feel too small to me.
I do love my 9c for IWB carry though.

If your pockets are big enough to carry the M&P, you don't need a gun, you're to big too mess with anyway. Seriously, an IWB may work well.

I would think it to heavy/bulky for pocket carry but it carries nicely in a good IWB such as a Comp Tac Minotaur or a nice OWB belt holster.

I agree w/others here, my 9c is not for pocket carry. It is, however, a great gun for IWB or OWB and so accurate it is almost unbelievable. Mine had the Apex trigger job done by the previous owner and is totally ambi, great for my lefty issues.

I carry my 9c in a Crossbreed Supertuck, and forget that it's there. Agree with the others, that it might be too big for pocket carry, unless you're built like Shaquille O'Neal.
