Wanting to buy a M&P 40c, which one?
Looking to buy a 40c, but I see there are many different models, and on Smith's website, they give no details as to what is different between the models.
Models I see are : 109003, 109203, 109253, 109303 and 106303 (ok, on this last one, I see it has the thumb safety).
I live in Kansas, so no need for some compliant pistol. Could anyone help me out as to which model might be a preferred model? I know some have magazine locks, and seems I had seen where maybe another has an internal lock (how does this work, why would I want that?)
What about the Talo edition 150955 with the xGrip (it retails less, is it missing extras that the others come with?). For target practice I wouldn't mind and extended magazine, it's what I usually use when shooting my SR9c for target.
Any clarity would be appreciated.

Go to the Smith and Wesson web site and search for the latest catalog. I downloaded it and printed it but if you want to you can just view it online. It will give you all the options for the 40c. Enjoy!!!

I went to 2 different dealers and...they even had a hard time distinguishing em apart. All I know is my 40C has 2 ten round magazines, 3 back straps, no external safety, 3 white dot sights and won't fire without the magazine. Most important is that I am familiar with its features.
I did not want to wait for a "special order" either...Just my 2cents.

Well, after d/l the brochure, at least it does cover the differences in the models. Going to a gun show this weekend, maybe I'll bring one home.

Buy the one that's available. They tend to be scarce.

That sounds like what I'd like to have, the SKU must have to do with the optional night sights, I don't think they list that SKU in the catalog. I like the sound of 3 mags too!
Thanks for the SKU, I'll be on the look out for that one this weekend.

The three mag models are first responder guns. If you qualify as a first responder they sell for $398 with three mags and free shipping at Bud's Police Supply online.
$455 with night sights.

I am not a First Responder and I purchased
40c with:
No lock
No mag safety
No external safety
Trijicon night sights
Three magazines
SKU 307703
PM me and I will provide the contact information to Dealer I purchased mine through. The prices are almost as good as Bud's if you look at the extra magazine and what night sights would cost.
Any dealer can order 307703 and sell it to a non first responder.

Picked up the 109303 today at a gun show(no safeties of any kind). No models found with night sights. Shot it a bit at the range this after noon, about 80 rounds. Ran flawless out of the box.
Wasn't planning to shoot it, took about 8 pistols to the range to meet a woman who wanted to learn to shoot, but while waiting on her to arrive, I just couldn't resist.
So far, I love it!

How much are you guys paying for First Responder guns?
S&W discounts them for FR's, but the seller is supposed to verify they are going to FR's.
Typical pricing is $399 for 3 mags and shipping incl.
$455 for night sights.
45 cals are more expensive than 9, 357, 40's.
