Default M&P 45 recoil spring assembly question
I bought a new M&P 45 midsize (4" barrel, full size frame with 10 round capacity) last night, and when I broke it down today, the recoil spring assembly seems very "loose." That is, there is barely any tension at all in the assembly as it fits between the barrel and frame. I've never had the midsize before, but on all my other M&Ps, I have to push on the spring assembly a fair amount to compress it and remove it...on this one, it is barely retained. I can literally just lift it out. Is this normal? It doesn't seem like it should be to me.

Also, the front 1/3 or so of the spring is painted orange...that is also something I haven't seen before on my other M&Ps. Is that significant?

Mine is exactly the same and the gun is flawless.....over 1000 rounds and no problems....
