Local shop...$449. The place has been good to me over the years and they can't keep them in stock. 40cal is what I ended up with. I don't mind paying a little more to the local guy.

I've bought 2 from the same website now with free shipping.
$358 9mm back on black friday plus $10 transfer, purchased another pistol plus a stripped lower so the $10 covered all 3.
$335 .40 the other day, LE price and no transfer fee.

I think supply has finally caught up with demand on these guns. We had a few at the gun show this past weekend listed at $375, & none sold. No interest at all. Before the show started, I check other vendor's prices, & was in line with them. Since the gun costs the store $335, those who said they paid $325, or $335 obviously got a LE discount. 98% of buyers will not qualify for the $325/$335 price. GARY

$419 and $448 out the door after tax. But I have to say.. I waited a year and 1/2 to get that price. People were selling them for $700 to $750 on my local personal gun sales site. Ridiculous! and people were paying it!! Glad I waited. I saw some around town for $379.. but it was a long drive and when I found mine down the street, I just paid the $419.. couldn't be happier!

$395+tax, but ended up being a MA compliant model. They seem to be going for around $430-$470 at other LGS here in Northern VA. But I just got a message from another dealer responding to a post in another forum for the same $395 price for a regular 6.5# Shield. Seems as though they are starting to come down.

$409 + tax for my 9mm the other day. Could have done a little better maybe via mail order. But most of that is eaten up by the transfer fee and we've got to pay tax on transferred guns around here. So it was worth the slight extra to just pick it up.

$399 - most in my area range from $399 to $449. BTW, If you are LEO or active military, reserves or retired including gray area retiree, you can get up to $50 off a S & W purchase through June 30th I believe but not on the Shield.

Can someone explain to me what it means for a weapon to be state compliant, and why is it important to be sure the one you purchase is state compliant?
And how do you determine which one a new gun is before purchasing it? Whether or not you need a compliant gun which model is best to own?
Haven't decided yet if I want a 9mm or .40 Shield.

Some states, MA and CA for example, have specific laws regarding handgun manufacturing/sales. They might require that a handgun have a specific trigger pull weight or have magazines limited to 10 rounds.
A gun meant for one of these states would be said to be "state of ______ compliant".

$379 + tax and Background check. The guy who runs the LGS has had them on the "sale" price for months! When I bought mine he was saying he can't keep them in stock. As soon as he gets a few and his website shows they're in stock he gets calls and ships them to customers all over the country. Through a FFL dealer of course.

Just purchased my .40 from PSA for $359 with free shipping. My dealers transfer is $20, so I'll be at $379 total.
I've seen prices at the local shops from $399 to $499 before tax and background check.

$379 + tax at gun show this weekend. Decent supply. Most were March 2014 production. Price range was from $370 to $499. The $499 was at one dealer only, most were priced $389 or $399. The $370 was for a January 2014 production.

$ 415 at LGS. GB auctions with shipping and transfer fees were a few dollars less, but I opted to give my business to my local guy.
That PSA deal is fantastic, congrats.

i'm not in the market for one, but have seen the Shield occasionally for $399 at PSA's site, sometimes i believe it's been for a bit less then that as well. Cant say if it's same price in their stores for those of us in the SC area though.

Placed an order for a Shield 40 from Kentucky Gun Co. for $345 (no tax and free shipping), but then after reading the kaboom threads, it made me just uneasy enough to cancel the order and look for a Shield 9, though I've been wondering if that was the right thing to do ever since I did it... lol
Anyway, found the Shield 9 at G&R Tactical for $370 (no tax), $20 shipping, and a $20 transfer fee for a grand total of $410.
