FYI, the M&P 9C can feel soooooo different with the different backstraps. It amazes me how much!
Mine feels the best with the large backstrap, but I shoot better with the medium backstrap...... go figure
When I put the small on there, it almost feels like a single stack!

I just got the Shield 45 10 days ago from my LGS...$465 OTD. I know if I had wanted, I could have done this cheaper thru an online source, but I'm willing to pay the difference to keep my small family owned LGS in business. I've known the guys forever, and they are pretty good to me. And, I was 45 minutes from the time I had my first look and feel until I walked out the door with it.

Well actually what anyone paid for their Shield is of no importance except to the person who purchased it.
Fact is most all LGS (except for one that's up on a mountain) have to be within 12 to 20 dollars of each other to be competitive. LGS are most often even less expensive than online sites and gun shows. (realize they don't advertise taxes, and FFL transfer fee and gun shows charge for parking and entry).
So I'm quite sure most Shield purchases are generally in the same price range give or take a few bucks for the same weapon.
I paid $420.00 out the door with a 20 count box of Federal HST
for my Shield 45. Who cares...I got what I wanted at a price I thought was good....

I knew if I waited I could get it cheaper but just could not wait. Paid $465 on gunbroker for Shield 45, shipping and transfer just 2 weeks ago. Someone recently posted they are at Cabela's online for $399 plus tax so about $425 in my town. They said Cabela's will even mail to a FFL holder for transfer. I'm still happy with my purchase.

I went to a LCS that a friend of my Father in Law owns. The had $430 on the tag. I told him I would take it but had to wait for my CC permit. He snaps off "$400 out the door and you can lay it away and get it when your permit comes through." Sold! I like doing business local and he always knocks money off on ammo too.

I pick up a used shield 9mm about 3 month ago from the original owner who stated it maybe had 2 boxes of ammo down the bore.
I got the gun and 4 S@W mags 8 rounders for 250.00 .The gun now has about 500 rounds total and not one problem with it.
The guy who own it stated it was mint condition and it was,he sold only because he did not like the striker fire trigger.I checked the trigger on the scale breaks at 5 lbs out of the box :Thumbs up on this shield

I was at the Ft. Worth gun show this weekend, and a dealer had a Sunday show special. He had a stack of 9 Shields for $300+tax each. I should have got one.

Be nice if you would state which model you purchased. The Shield 45 is a bit newer with a higher list price than the 9 or 40. I believe just under the $400 mark for the 45 and just below the $350 mark for the 9 and 40. Is this what you are seeing?

$389 Plus Tax
EDIT: ACADEMY SPORTS just listed my newest shield for $369.98 so $20 cheaper than I paid 14 days ago and plus this sale also includes a $50 instore gift card, so i called to see what the companies on sale price match policy was and they said you can get a matched price at the cheaper price if it goes on sale within 14 days of your purchase so lucky for me I bougot mine on the 7th and today is the 21st so I had to go take my receipt to the store and they issued me a $20 refund and gave me the $50 gift card as well so I guess my $389 shield turned out to be a $319 shield...

One of my LGS is having a Black Friday sale tomorrow, He has 60 in stock of the 9mm and is doing a one day Black Friday for $ 315. Due to interest in his ad and the feed back he has experienced , he expects to sell all very early in the morning after opening.
