I paid $314.99 before rebate at Sportsman Outdoor Superstore online. $25.00 transfer fee at local FFL. Free shipping and no tax, it's great to be an American.

Used Shield with Goodies in PPT for $500 + DROS & Tfr
I just bought one used in a private party transfer for $500 + $25 DROS and $10 transfer fee = $535 It came with Trijicon HD night sights, an Apex trigger and a nice stipple job. I figure each of the upgrades were about $150 each = $450. The LGS at the range where I shoot wanted $499. It told them MSRP is $469. Turner's has them for $420 + $25 DROS + sales tax at 7.75% = $479 - rebate $75 = $404 I would have done the HD's and the Apex, so I would have had over $700 into a new one, so I'm quite happy with $535 out-the-door for a nice used one. I even like the stipple job, though I probably wouldn't have done it.

Why do all my local FFLs want to charge sales tax on top of transfer fees?
Last Shield I bought was $35 more than best price online but their transfer fee is $30. I bought it direct so I could buy AND take it home at the same time.
But I'm looking at the PC now to use the rebate.

I bought my shield9 from Palmetto. The barrel was rust streaked inside and the fireing pin area looked like it had at least 500 rnds through it.There is a scratch on the left side of the slide. There was no paperwork that mentioned anything about the rebate,so how do I send out for that?

$479.99 for my 9mm Shield PC many months prior to the Nov. 2016 elections. I think they are less now. But still very happy to own mine regardless of the price.

Have any pics of the barrel?
This is my concern with an online purchase (especially since I wouldn't be able to see the firing pin and gauge life). I've read if you're not happy with it, not to take it home and contact the vendor... but after waiting for shipping, I'm not sure I'd be able to.

Now my father wants one as he wants to start carrying and wants something smaller than his Glock 22. Guess I'm on the hunt again

Shopping around
I went shopping around today for the 9MM shield. Cabela's had it for 424.00, the pro for 419.00. The LGS had it for 449.00 and Point Blank has it for 399.00. With the 75.00 rebate the urge is strong to just do it. Going with PB the final cost after taxes and the rebate would be ~ 361.00. Thats less then I paid for my SD9ve. *** !

I purchased my Shield today. $428.00 out the door. Plus the rebate puts me at ~360.00. That's a good deal.

Yup, this. Got in on the .45 just before they popped the price up $40 so I figure $245 in my hands after adding in all the $0.99eses. And one more 9mm otw at same price.

You would think that I would stop after netting the 2 .45s from Whittaker's but noooooooooo... not me. After buying some 9mm mags for $9.99, I just had to get a 9mm Shield to go with them, right? Well, Brownell's had the 9mm (w/safety) marked down to $314.99. I used Code L9Q which netted me $30 off of $300 & free shipping, but since they tack on a $10 FFL fee, it is costing me a total of $294.99. My FFL charges $20 so after the rebate is returned, I will be in the gun for a total of $239.99.

New to the board and glad to see such a friendly forum.
Bought my wife a 9s, from Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore, post-rebate, $240. Free shipping, no tax, $20 FFL.
This is to be her 20th anniversary wedding present. We're from/in Texas, so it's 100% appropriate.
She has no idea, but fired a brand new one, out of the box, several weeks back and loved it. I'm glad, because I'll get a Compact as soon as the price is right. The Compact feels as if it were made for my hand, specifically.

Brownells had one hell of a deal a week back and I picked up one. Brownells had it for $274.99 - $25 promo + $10 processing fee and free 2 day shipping totaling $259.99. Plus $75 S&W mail in rebate brings it to $184.99.

Another Sportsmans Outdoor Supercenter purchase here, 9mm standard for $314, free shipping and $15 FFL. So, $255 with rebate. Can't argue with that.

Bought a Shield 9mm 3 years ago from The Sportsman's Outdoor Super Store. Paid $335. Just bought a Shield .45 from them for $345 before the $75 rebate. So $270 + $25 FFL fee = $295

It's been a while since I've posted on this thread
Back when Obama was reelected and Shields first came out $449 was a good price! Since my first post here looking for one, I've bought 9 of them, the cheapest being $224 after rebate.
I also looked back and saw I was hoping to someday pick up a 3913. I now have a pretty respectable collection of third gens. My how times change.
What a great country we live in 😁

Just ordered one from PSA - $319.99 before the $75 rebate. free shipping, $25 for my FFL transfer. So it'll be $269.99 in the end. Not bad at all. Hope I get a good one, as I have never bought a S&W semiauto pistol.
Have had several wheelguns since the '70s, and one M&P Sport AR.

$359.00 at my LGS for a brand spankin' new box stock 9mm Shield with no thumb safety. $313.62 after sales tax and rebate applied. One of the prettier specimens I've seen.
Recently bought a used but well-treated 9mm with night sights, no thumb safety, and four magazines (3 x 8 round and 1 x 7 round) from a LEO for $400.
Also recently bought a pre-owned but unfired 9mm with thumb safety, standard pair of mags, and Streamlight TLR-6 light/laser combo for $400.

Hope I get a good one, as I have never bought a S&W semiauto pistol.
H....and one M&P Sport AR.

We decided on an M&P Sport II....because of our experience with 5 other M&P's. Great guns. Shield needs about 500 rds run through them and it all comes together
@Lost Lake...Holy cow! Nine??? I thought I was crazy at 6
Are they all Shields? We have 4 Shields, 1 Sport II and 1 22c

Yes 9 Shields. Whittaker is running a 5% off moving sale right now. Type MOVINGDAY in for a coupon code. They have Shield 9's for $299.
The Sport 2 is good, the original Sport with the 1/85R barrel is the best, the 22c is an awesome gun. I like it better than the full size M&P22 made by Walther. I own those also. I don't own an M&P revolver but I think I have every other M&P made except for the PC versions. Oh, and I don't have a 40c. They're investments for me.
