Default Brand new Shield 380 Safety

Yesterday I picked up a new M&P Shield 380 and the thumb safety is very difficult to to turn on and off. Is there away to lubricate or adjust this or will it get easier over time?

It should loosen up and work well! Harder to put on and easy to flick off!

The thumb safeties' on the Shields are too small to be of any tactical use to me.

I have one on my 9mm 2.0, I only use it if loading the weapon, after it is loaded I take it off.

My Shield PC .45 has none, that's just fine with me!

My 1.0 is easier to take off than it is to put on, I keep one in the chamber so I keep it on. On (if one in the chamber) Off (if not)...your choice...just be consistent in what you do so there's no mistakes.

There was a recall on the 380EZ with a safety, the detent ball was to small and the safety would come on when it was fired. So they made it harder on purpose to correct this problem.

I bought the 380EZ because of my hands and I do not find the safety that hard to move and has a nice snap when moved. My 380EZ is dated 9/22/2018. Overall I feel the tightness on the safety is just about as good as you can ask for movement and safety. Of course we all have our opinion/s.

Time AND use. It's brand new, use it. If you want to shorten up the process make sure it's EMPTY (EZ380) of any ammo, dump the mag and just keep cycling the safety on and off until it feels better.

I think mine must be a newer one, though I didn't see a date anywhere. (i'll have to look at the box, etc again.

The safety was not particularly heavy, felt easier than a 1911.

Hasn't seemed to change (get lighter) since I've had it and have been cycling it (some three weeks).

At a gun show last weekend, there was exactly one of these left the afternoon of the first day. They fly out the door like the original 9mm Shield did.
