Default .40c magazine safety

Was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the magazine safety on my .40c?

this is the first pistol i've ever owned with a stupid magazine safety. i know its supposed to keep the gun from firing with the mag removed.

but i want the gun to fire with the mag removed. part of the tactical training i do is changing the mag WHILE firing the chamber round. this stupid safety make that impossible :-)

anyone know how?

Pretty easy; remove the sear block by driving out the coil pin. The mag safety lever is on the same pin as the sear disconnect lever. Drive the pin out enough to remove the mag safety lever and the spring. Buy a magic replacement spring (longer) and reassemble.

Is it possible to fit mag safety parts to the sear block of a pistol (M&P45) at present not so equipped?

youseemym&p I would like to see how you do this. Have you put a video on YouTube?

This is something many could use in pistol games like IDPA, etc. Are you able to be accurate while inserting a mag and firing the last shot? Is this something you do as a tactical reload, or reload with retention?

Thanks for the input.

i dont do it for competition. but i can now see how it could be a huge advantage on the clock.

basically what i do is very well timed haha

i know i have 10+1 in the weapon so every time i fire i count down until i am dang sure that my last round is about to be chambered.

when i fire the second to last round i do a 2 mag tactical reload *already have the replacement in my hand*

as i fire the second to last i drop the existing mag from the magwell. before i fire the last round the new mag is already on its way into the weapon, about a 1/2 way into the mag well. at this time i fire the last round causing the action to cycle and while the action is open,in that fraction of a second the mag seats. stripping a round off the new mag and into the chamber.

this method takes A LOT OF PRACTICE. took me about 4 months to semi perfect it. and im still kind of new to it.

a buddy of mine who is an Israeli police officer taught me this reload method, which is one of the tactics that the Israeli police use to suppress combatants by literally having no stoppage in firing.

like i said the timing is impeccable, down to miliseconds or else you will just seat a mag on an empty chamber. and i recommend training to do this on a cheaper weapon because if done wrong you can mess up the feed ramp. when i started i must have set the mag on an empty chamber 200 times before i even got a round to seat this way. and im about 2,000 rounds into this training.

but when done properly. as he showed me with his Glock 19. you can fire 50 continuous rounds pretty darn accurately :-) and he can do it every time.

next time i head out to the range i will try to have my girlfriend video this. ill try to get the best clip out of all the attempts i make *hopefully they will mostly be successful* and ill throw it on youtube
