Default Compact Pinky Extension on Shield?

Does anyone who has the Shield think there is a way to fit the angled pinky extension for the compact onto the Shield? The only thing I'm not liking about the shield is that I like that angled extension...

+1 on that. Second on my wish list next to a grip sleeve.

Just based on the looks and reported width, I don't believe it will fit but there may be some way to cut one down to make it fit. Other than that, I encourage some 3rd party company to make one of these, I think it will be a hot seller.

Pearce Grips should get on this, PRONTO! If you want one, why not email Pearce and tell them. Maybe if they get enough requests?

I don't get it, the reason this gun was made, and in perticullarly purchased was for its small demensions, but people want to add things to make them bigger?

No its to make it so you can get a better grip on it, a smaller version of the extended mag they include with it. I mean really, it's not a pocket pistol, if it were they no I would not want any edges on it but it's going to be holstered.

I agree, its no pocket gun, but I believe the pinky extensions for the 9 and 40 c will be to wide....what's wrong with the extension on the 8 round magazine?

It's ok, the 8 round extension, personally I just don't care for the look of it however. For the 7 round mag however, I think that simple little addition of an angled extension could make a world of difference in the hold. At least for me I simply can't get a good hold on a weapon with my pinky under the handle.

I hope you will email Pearce Grips about your desire to have one.

I know that they make pinky extensions but I looked at them and they don't do anything for any M&P pistols, I will email them however, it's worth a shot.

Where there is enough demand, sometimes the demand is met. This is certainly true regarding holsters for the Shield! I wonder if anyone will be brave enough to try one of the existing Pearce extensions.

Someone did this way back for the Kel-tec PF-9 and posted instructions on how to easily modify a Kahr extension with a dremel to fit the PF-9. I did 2 of them.

Anyway, guess you'd have to have a bunch of weapons to compare to the Shield and then see if one of them has a Pearce extension offered for it. Then you'd at least be starting with something close.

I just saw this "M&P Shield" video on youtube where "paultana" says he added the Pearce grip extension for it. He's not being honest because Pearce doesn't make grip extensions for ANY Smith & Wesson arms.. I left him an inquiry. This should be interesting. Looks to me like he laid or glued an extension to the bottom of the 7 rounder? M&P Shield - YouTube
