Default M&P 9c question

I am new to the S&W forum but to smith Wesson firearms.
I am looking at buying a 9c and am a bit confused by the many different Mdl numbers. The two that caught my eye are 109004
does that one have night sites?
and the 206304
What is the differences between the two and what exactly does each come with as far as accessories and Mags etc.
I would also like to know what everyone considers a best buy for all around gun (range, carry and Home defense). The new shield, the 4.25 barrel 9 or the 9c.
Thanks
Ray

I have a 9c and I love it. I do carry it and do a lot of shooting at the range. This gun is a tac driver and im sure the others are too. I am a big guy and even for me the full size is kinda big to try to conceal. I have not held the shield yet but I can tell you I really like the 9c.

go to smith & wesson website to see all the M&Ps. They are not in order but you will begin the see the 9mm variations.

Wiki smith&wesson and M&P and they have a great side by side matrix at the bottom to compare LxWxH.

I just went thru the same thing, trying to figure what to conceal carry.

Wiki says the shield is .200 narrower and the
9c is .5 shorter (butt) and and 1/2 inch longer.
9c also carries 5 more and that explains the width difference single vs. double stack.

good luck in your quest. mine shows up tomorrow )

Default Got one

Well I just put a deposit on a 9c with crimson trace Laser grips.
Found one at one of the LGS for $639.99 new
I figured it was about as good as I could do price wise so I left a deposit pending my getting the purchase paperwork from the great State of North Carolina.

I use the 9c as my EDC and the 9FS for IDPA. I have put around 7000 rounds total between the 2. No FTB, FTE or FTF issues. Easy to clean and maintain.

Simple to modify, ya my state requires a 10lb trigger (sucks), but Apex has a solution to that.

The Shield is definately of interest to me, but in this state we will wait a while before we see it even though S&W has it's home here. Ya love politics and politicians!!!!

There is the age old discussion of 9mm vs 40 vs 45acp. Shot placement is the equalizer IMHO. So I went with the 9mm due to the number of rounds I buy and am very happy.

I think you will enjoy the M&P line, I've seen a few of my Glock friends make the change to M&P.

Try before you buy, if you have a rental range near you. In any case, hope this helps and enjoy the shooting sports as well as CCW!!!

Take care, best wishes,
Scott
