Question Opinion--Shield Big Bot Night Sights

I know there are some Shield owners out there with Big Dot Night Sights because XS is out and they are taking orders.

Question:

For slow deliberate shooting what was your grouping at 7 yards with the notch and post sights and now using Big Dot and also rapid self defense shooting before and after acquiring Big Dot?

Personal Observation:

I am very pleased with the accuracy of my Shield but honestly when I look around the range and observe folks shooting most everyone including myself are taking our time making sure feet are apart arms extended in a double grip and sights are lined up and slowly the trigger is pulled.

It makes for great tight groups but in a real life self defense situation that approach will end in death of a good guy.

Quick point shooting in my opinion is the only way to gain an edge over the bad guy but honestly I stink. I have even tried rapid front sight only aiming and it was not all that great.

The more I study the design of the Big Dot the more I think this may be my answer.

I look forward to Big Dot owners who have practiced slow deliberate shooting and quick self defense (one shot per second) shots at 7 yard targets. I would like to know how tight the groups are and after rapidly unloading 7+1 rounds from your Shield what percentage made it in the kill zone?

Thanks

Russ

I don't think it is the big dot out front but the rear sight that makes that system work so well. I have Heine Straight 8s on several pistols and LOVE them!. The big dots are similar with a post & dot.
