Default Updates to M&P .45?

A major agency in my state has been carrying the full-size M&P .45 for three or four years now. I heard from an employee that they will be issued an updated version very soon - stronger frame design.

Any further thoughts on this from forum members?

I've had mine for 8 months and have put about 500 rounds through it so far. Several of my co-workers have bought and use M&P 45s as well. Don't see any weakness in it at all. In the S&W armorers course they talk about the built in strength of the frame design (marketing maybe), but these things do seem quite well made already. We'll see what develops in the future, I guess there's always room for improvement......

Just got a M&P45, with Safety on it, couldn't be more happy. Put 250 rounds through it all ready and no issues what so ever. My two M&P9Cs convinced me to go with a full size 45. A couple of 14 round mags and the two 10 round mags that came with it eats up a box of ammo pretty quick. I still have fun with my Sig Sauer 1911's I own but the volume of fire power in the M&P is hard to beat for half the price of the Sig Sauer 1911's.

I'll believe it when I see it.
